Original article: Quote of the day

I would be more than happy to sign on if that is what feminism really was

today but sadly that is not what feminism is in the United States. Using that definition is like a Republican claiming they are for small government, maybe it was true at one point but in practice it is the opposite. Too much of the feminist movement now is not about fairness of process but about a non-sense philosophy that is bordering on religion and nonthinking results.

The misuse of Marxist methodology to create the pomo nonsense of feminist theory and patriarchy to give name to the philosophy. This of course ignores history to make a nice fairy tale on how women are the superior sex if not for men holding them down. There is almost never any mention from the feminist authors when using the term patriarchy that historically all but the top 1 percent of men where treated about the same as women. It ignores that women in court pre enlightenment still had freedom closer to those of male members of the court then they did with the average male who had no right, and was by law part of the land. There is of course the unsaid belief in this that there was a time before men took to power when it was women that where in power and the world was filled with flowers and sunshine of course there is absolutely no evidence to support this.

Now onto the biggest issue with American feminism, the death of fairness of process. If fairness of process was the goal of feminism there would be few that opposed it but it is not. Take some of the biggest issues of feminism such as the wage gap, rape, and access. Too many feminist when dealing with the wage gap are more then willing to accept bogus stats such as the 70 cents on the dollar myth. They ignore all of the factors besides discrimination to continue with the myth such as job type, hours worked, job title etc. They ignore studies showing in urban areas women actually making more than men. To many want to sell out one class of women (those that choose a career) so women that take significant time off work can come back with pay and promotions as if they never left. Hell there are some self identified feminist that post here regular that women to be paid for work they never did in the form of Social Security benefits.

Onto the issues of rape. Too many feminist have accepted the less than 2 percent stat for false claims, a stat that never came from a reputable study to begin with but was made up. When a case of a false claim comes up, such as Duke, at best the feminist press still treated the lying women as a victim of mental issues, that is at best. While most of the feminist press either went with a version of even if it was bullshit to publicize this might cause one person not to come forward to close to the majority if not the majority believing despite the evidence that these kids did it but got away with it. The response to bringing up false accusations is too often an ad hominan attack is that person supports "rape culture". Too often american feminist want to take away any responsibility that a women has in a sexual contact while placing all responsibility on males. A few examples of this from the pages of BS, the women who let her boyfriends brother screw her claiming that she was defrauded without ever bothering to look back to name but one. Too many responses to this is rape is rape not that a women has a small bit of responsibility to look back to see who the hell is undressing her.

Another problem with American feminism, the feeling of entitlement to access. Women now outnumber men in college by about 18 percent, outnumber men in most non science grad and professional schools and yet the only thing said is that the boy crisis is bullshit and the engineering department is sexist. Nothing is at all said that girls should take harder math and science classes in high school (almost certainly taught by a female teacher as males have all but been driven out of primary education). Too many feminist complain about the lack of women in office of course ignoring that women make up a larger chunk of the voting block which could elect nothing but women if they had solidarity. They ignore that it is women that are choosing not to run and expect something or someone else to rectify this instead of doing it themselves. If there is a promising young female DA why can't some of the leaders of the feminist movement suggest running and put up the money? This is what every other group does. This primary too many feminist expected women to vote for Hillary Clinton just because she was a woman. The Steinem piece in the NYT for example gave no other reason to vote for Clinton other than she was a women and it was womens' time. Lastly, feminism does not tolerate differing view points very well if at all. Too many women and men that in general agree with feminism are turned away because they have a different view on abortion. Personally the only question I have about the issue is when does the fetus offically become a human, when the head pops out or when the whole thing is out but I reconginze that there are those that sincerely believe that the fetus is a life from the moment of conception with the same rights as a child yet the response from american feminism is to accuse them of wanting to control women.
