This is about the 5th or 6th post from the BS writers about this story at least and with different stories about what actually happened the only thing the BS writers have brought to the table is these three ideas 1) don't dare blame teenage girls for getting pregnant and 2) where is the blame for the boys 3) blame the lack of sex ed. There is no reporting of the situation from BS (how hard is it to pick up the phone and make a few calls?) but there is plenty of blame of the rest of the media that does cover the story. BS is more than willing to accept any of the stories coming out that show these girls in the best light and dismissing stories that show these girls as immature or plotting.
Why does BS accept the mayors word on the pact over the principle anyways? At this point it is probably next to impossible to get the real story but I would say the principle is much more likely to have the real story than the mayor. Principles almost always have a closer relationship with a student than the mayor hell most students have little or no contact with the mayor of their towns. Both, the principal and mayor have reason to cover up such a pact if it exists but only one did try to cover up who is the mayor. Again maybe the mayor is right but as they teach in J-school question the motive.
Back to the 3 issues BS keeps repeating. If the original story is the closest to the truth no amount of Sex Ed would have changed the story. Comprehensive Sex Ed will probably never include all of the negatives of children with the cult of motherhood/cult of children we have in this country. I know this will not be popular especially on BS but men and women are different biologically. Men can not get pregnant while women can. With this fact of nature, it is impossible for pregnancy to be equal between two partners. Hell that is large point of the argument why women need to be in complete control over decisions of having an abortion or not. As great as it would be to have both the mother and father to have a say in the decision to have an abortion in reality it is impossible to give both parties equal rights over the decision. What I am getting at here, it is great to say it takes 2 to make a baby but in reality it is only one party that will suffer the consequences of being pregnant. So its great to say both parties should be responsible for birth control but in reality if a women does not want to get pregnant she needs to take it upon her self to use protection especially since there is about a dozen different forms of birth control that women can use compared to the one form that men can use.
