aka Smith

I call you a radical feminist based on the opinions you have stated on several different issues, sources and numbers you have used, and a woman as victim view point that jumps out on many of your posts.

Well if the clichés are not smokescreen but unoriginal it changes nothing about how valid the reasons are. Without a way back machine it would be impossible to know but if her vote on Iraq was different I have no doubt that she would have ran away with this election with possibly no opposition. She had the funding, media coverage and institutional support going in. But saying that this is old news and does move the conversation forward all but forces the conversation to a person that did not vote for Clinton did so because of sexism.

I understand that Steinem's piece was opinion but it was a opinion piece based on such twists of logic and history to be a joke. I am not a pomo and I don't believe all view points are valid especially when based on such a faulty foundation. I have my doubts if Steinem knows about the history of voting in this country based on her piece. It is her to states black men had the right to vote for 50 years before women with no mention of the history on the ground. Steinem is the one that makes the point that men issues are treated as more important which despite her protest is bringing up issues of black men versus white women. Its nice to see you imply condoning DV along as it does not cause injury. Most academic studies do show that women are just as likely if not more to start or be the only one to use violence in a domestic situation. The rate of rape is really not that different between women and black males either but i know prison rapes does not count. But, these are discussions better had else where.

I know those that want to push the Clinton lost because sexism meme would love to make it just about sexism but you can not have a honest debate about the role of sexism in this primary with out race. Also, blacks make up about 11 percent of the voting public and 13 percent of the population. (Lets not forgot it was Clinton as co president that dramatically expanded the war on inner cities aka war on drugs that is responsible for so many black males being ineligible to vote). If you want to discuss why more women are not elected to office I am more than happy to have that discussion. Look at Emilie's list for about 8 women not in the house for starters. Or, why women don't run for office, as a casual look shows them winning the majority of the time when they do run.

On Clinton having sexist attacks from way back, her husband was also called a rapist, drug dealer and murderer (well both on the last one). And, yet despite all those attacks she was the clear front runner for the Democratic nomination going back before the last election.

The backlash i was referring to was the sexist comments especially from Chris Matthews that she received after Iowa but before NH and no I am not referencing the crying or tearing up what every anyone wants to call it.

As you said about reasons people give for not supporting Hillary Clinton it is a cliché at this point the crys of sexism are just that. Just about every single article about sexism in this race has mentioned the same incidents some of which are months old and have been written about ad nous's. Most of these examples again come from well known Republican partisan. And, none of them even hint at how her gender might have helped her.

All I meant by don't vote for Obama is that if you feel that sexism was that rampant and he was responsible for it, the best way to show it is by not voting for him. This was more of a general statement to anyone that feels this way, I was not trying to imply that you thought Obama was responsible.

FCC filing?

Has there been a FCC filing yet? There will be no new iphone on shelves until about 3 weeks after one is filled.

I have to take issue with one thing you said about the racism Obama had is a wash with the sexism that Clinton faced. I believe it was every single state but i could be wrong and it is just about every state where the exit polls showed that Hillary was helped because of her gender based on the was gender important to your vote and if so who did you vote for. The results are around 15 to 25 that said sex was important and they voted for Clinton 2 to 1 or 3 to 1. While in just about every state Obama got crushed on the race question losing 2 to 1 if not 3 to 1.

To others, me thinks you read too much in some of these comments. Such as ones like some one needs to go into the room and Hillary needs to be left behind. How is that sexist? The same thing would have been said if a male candidate ran the same campaign.

Shocked

I am shocked i tell you that the police/DA overstepped logic to criminalize the behavior of an asshole. Being an asshole is not a crime in this country yet. From the description of the photos they do not meet any legal definition of child pornography. If the photos do turn out to include more sexually explicit images than the description it should be this girl that is charged with producing child porn, trafficking child porn, FCC volitions, along with being charged with the new law of breaking TOS agreements as there can be no doubt that her cell contract had language either flat out saying no child porn or the service could not be used to commit felonies.
