Oh, I'm sure he's sorry now . . .
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]1. A "mistake" is changing lanes without a turn signal. What Michael Vick did was a several-years-long reign of horror. To try to shrug this off as "a mistake" is dishonesty.
2. His career is clearly in his rear-view mirror now. If he receives a just sentence, with or without an additional suspension by the NFL, by the time he is eligible to play again, football will have passed him by. He won't be able to keep his skills at a level to play pro ball while incarcerated.
3. If he's found religion, fine. I'll believe it when he's proven it, though.
4. I don't know any dog fighters personally. I do, however, know of some -- black, white, and Hispanic. This is not a racial thing. I believe that any man whose dog fighting operation came to light would be justly excoriated by the majority of Americans.

What if it HAD been real?
[Read the article: Is Star Simpson's "fake bomb" just an art jacket?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Ms. Simpson didn't think that her art project would frighten anyone.
The ticket agent, not being an expert on bombs was, in fact, frightened.
No one died. No one was tasered (and this does seem to be an ever-growing trend in law enforcement).
If this had been a real bomb worn by a real suicide bomber, and no one had stopped her, how loudly would we all be protesting then?
I daresay we'd be calling for the firing of every person employed at the airport who saw her and did nothing.

I don't care what any candidate's faith is . . .
[Read the article: Romney to speak about his Mormon faith]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . .unless he (or she) tries to force me to subscribe to it.
I do care intensely about what Mitt Romney's domestic and foreign policy decisions might be as well as his economic policies.
In all those areas, I have plenty of doubts. Barring a flat-out epiphany, I can't see myself voting for him.
