It might be better to follow up this information,

before suggesting we have a Republican version of Bill Clinton running amuck.

I couldn't understand why she hired Kopp or Monegan as Commissioners of Public Safety.

I worked in a program to Stop Violence Against Woman and Stop Violence Against Indian Women.

Five Native Women were murdered in Anchorage. One case was the most heinous murder in memory.

A young man was charged with her brutal murder and later acquitted. The police investigation found NO TRACE EVIDENCE.

Walt Monegan publically blamed the murdered victims and their families and never once told the perps that they would be held accountable.

He made excuses for poor police work, that his men were "only human."

When the young man was acquitted for murder, he murdered again upon his release. ...

Original article: Palin watch

Sarah, Sarah,

It's all we will hear till the bells chime in November.

There are quite good reasons not to parade this god-fearing pentecostal woman in front of the liberal press:

  • "In her campaign, Gov. Palin stressed the importance of making Alaska a safe place to live and raise children. She stressed the importance of public safety. She continually references transparency and openness in government."

    http://www.adn.com/opinion/compass/story/464796.html

  • Alaska crime rates higher than U.S. average; violence on rise, October 10, 2007 http://dwb.adn.com/news/alaska/crime/story/9368207p-9282028c.html
  • "According to the Legislative Finance Agency, the public safety budget in fy09 was cut by .06% while the governor's own budget increased 22.6%." ...

    "Anchorage Daily News 12/13/07: "Rutherford had worked as a Juneau lobbyist for TransCanada's pipeline subsidiary, Foothills, and made $40,200. Today Rutherford heads Palin's gas pipeline team."

    http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message597887/pg1

  • Public Safety already headed in 'new direction,' some say, July 28th, 2008

    http://www.adn.com/monegan/story/471361.html

  • Why Walt Monegan got fired: Palin's abuse of power

    http://www.andrewhalcro.com/why_walt_monegan_got_fired

Even when a body lands almost in her backyard, there's no change of direction or pace. This murder, the in-direct result of not convicting the killer of a young native woman several years earlier:

  • Mindy Schloss' body found in Wasilla http://www.adn.com/front/story/9304174p-9218619c.html

  • The Murder Of Mindy Schloss

    http://www.crimeandjustice.us/forums/lofiversion/index.php?t11056.html

Doesn't stir any real call to action. Even with the significant number of documented cases of violence against native Alaskan women.

Why fund local public safety when you can build boondoggle pipelines instead ? And attract the admiring attention of Washington.

It's unfortunate for everyone when it is easier to be the corporate tool, than it is to solve problems we all must face with courage.

The God she serves was not found within the walls of her local church:

This person loves Jesus' Sarah Palin's road from mayor of a small Alaskan town to John McCain's running mate is littered with casualties. But then she is, she believes, on a mission from God

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/sep/06/uselections2008.sarahpalin

So why should she appear to us in any other form than the chosen ?

Nothern Exposure: duck-foot actioneering

@Wabanatta_3

You might want to read the AP story on the subpoenas first in the wires sidebar.

I've consistently found the Anchorage,Alaska AP news team articles to be quite thorough.

So I'll bet that not every Republican committee member in Alaska thinks they should leave all their ducks in the water right now.

I'm glad you went, saw, wrote -

And even though you thought it 'grizzly', it's critical that we see this face of the America first crowd.

So in that way we might learn how to speak to them in some way. Because clearly they're not letting basic facts affect their opinions.

The rural western US being more isolated and insular than the rest of the country, is a safer bet to project that pandering, tired, isolating and mis-spoken approach to power the Republicans have perfected.

While the nuances of Shakespeare are lost to them the story is quite the same:

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears:

I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.

And unless we can bridge that gap, surely the results will be the same for us.

Hanging It Up At The OK Corral

Well she might be getting the boot. See today's WSJ:

For his part, Mr. Palin has worried about the frequent separation of his wife from her family, friends and Alaska staff, an adviser said. ...

"It's time to let Palin be Palin -- and let it all hang out," said Scott Reed, a Republican strategist.

I first saw a note about that article in this nice Alaska blog:

Original article: World to U.S.: You suck

What I don't Understand Is If They Are So Upset,

Why the dollar is in better shape today, than last week, and the week before:

09/30/08 -> $1.00 == 1.40998eur, 1.78175gbp

09/25/08 -> $1.00 == 1.46439eur, 1.84072gbp

09/18/08 -> $1.00 == 1.43834eur, 1.81823gbp

I suppose that's just some temporary illusion.
