There is a huge story about this issue that the media of all stripes continues to ignore. There were two, not one "bridges to nowhere" The one Palin is talking about was from Ketchikan to Gravina island, populationof 50). The other, more massive project is a bridge from Anchorage to Knik. This will benefit no Alaskans unless they own land in Knik. The major poloticians of this state own the land at Point McKenzie in Knik. Sara Palin has forged ahead with this project and a millions have already been spent on planning this useless bridge. The feds gave the money to the state and Palin is spending it. Wasilla is the armpit of Alaska. Since Palin trots out her family to show that she is the mother of the year they are fair game for the press. It suprises me that the media has not picked up on the fact that her son was given a choice by a judge to either join the military or go to jail for his part in a crime spree with a gang a Wasillans which disabled the brake systems of the local school busses. Nice family values. This is public information although the Rove campaign has probably burned the files by now. The campaign is basically now running our state.

What is the point of your whining diatribe about how life has screwed you. You have pretty much screwed your kids' chance at happiness and healthy relationships because you wanted a new adventure. As a therapist I would say your kids should have been your first priority.

After the debate I would be happy with a Biden/Obama ticket. In the primary debates I always thought "who is this guy and how does he get only one percent of the vote?" This probably is the best article I have read about Palin. Thank you for that. I think you made one mistake though in your last paragraph where you implied that Palin had a soul, albeit tarnished. She has no soul at all. As a fellow Alaskan I share your embarrassment that she has wrought upon us. She represents Texans and oklahomans who migrated here to reap the benefits of the pipeline and unfortunately never left. If Wasilla, a methamphetamine strip mall hub, founded and occupied by hate filled bigots and evangelicals , is small town America than we all have a good reason to become urbanites. The only reason she has sixty percent approval rating is that ninety percent of Alaskans are Republicans no matter how it hurts their own self interest.It is not about her. Howard Dean is the defining person who gave me hope the last six years. He should have become our president four years ago but as it turns out he has had a profound effect on our democracy anyway. I am so sad to see him resign. He is the force behind the Obama success.

This could be a fun game if it weren't for the fact that Warner is not playing for fans of Arizona or any Jews (or Muslims or whatever) but for Jesus himself.
