Biden

After the debate I would be happy with a Biden/Obama ticket. In the primary debates I always thought "who is this guy and how does he get only one percent of the vote?" He was spot on and very likeable to boot.. I cannot wait until Palin returns up here, don'tch ya know, to Alaska here, also. She has lost so much crede . Her reign will be severely diminished. You Betcha.

What Kids?

What is the point of your whining diatribe about how life has screwed you. You have pretty much screwed your kids' chance at happiness and healthy relationships because you wanted a new adventure. As a therapist I would say your kids should have been your first priority.

Armpits

Wasilla is the armpit of Alaska. Since Palin trots out her family to show that she is the mother of the year they are fair game for the press. It suprises me that the media has not picked up on the fact that her son was given a choice by a judge to either join the military or go to jail for his part in a crime spree with a gang a Wasillans which disabled the brake systems of the local school busses. Nice family values. This is public information although the Rove campaign has probably burned the files by now. The campaign is basically now running our state.

The Real Bridge To Nowhere

There is a huge story about this issue that the media of all stripes continues to ignore. There were two, not one "bridges to nowhere" The one Palin is talking about was from Ketchikan to Gravina island, populationof 50). The other, more massive project is a bridge from Anchorage to Knik. This will benefit no Alaskans unless they own land in Knik. The major poloticians of this state own the land at Point McKenzie in Knik. Sara Palin has forged ahead with this project and a millions have already been spent on planning this useless bridge. The feds gave the money to the state and Palin is spending it. Will someone please follow up on this lie? he majority of Alaskans oppose this project. Sheila Burke, Eagle River, Alaska

Do Not Underestimate Palin

As an Alaskan and a political junkie, to boot, this whole scenario is quite intriguing. Palin did take on the republican establishment in this state along with the oil companies. A formidable task for which she deserves credit. The "Troopergate" issue is small potatoes. On the other hand, it appears that she has now sold her "soul" to the rightwingnuts and Karl Rove. The speech she gave the other night was pure lies ala Karl Rove. What she did with her poor kids in terms of parading them to the media and then slamming the media for taking notice was quite telling in her buying into the Rovian methods of assault on the truth. By the way there are two "Bridges To NoWhere"; one in Ketchikan (to Gravina Island) and the other from Anchorage to Knik where Stevens, Don Young and Murkowski own property. As governor, Palin has accepted all of the money for both earmarks upwards of a billion dollars. Why does the mainstream media never mention the larger earmark which she fully supports and forges ahead with? Sheila Burke, Eagle River, Alaska

Ancient Assyrian Among Others

You are spot on until you miss the point. it is believed in Alaska that Palin was never pregnant. She" revealed" it in her seventh month when her ballerina body had not changed one iota. In her "eight month" her trip from Texas to her private clinic seven thousand miles away in Wasilla AFTER her water broke was a thirteen hour journey. I know of no mother who would not immediately go to the hospital after her water broke. The baby could have been minutes away from birth. She arrived in Anchorage and rather than go to a hospital a few minutes away she chose to drive to her Wasilla clinic, an hour and one half from the Anchorage airport. This is all her self report. No speculation or press report. Said she wanted her baby to be born in Wasilla.

Many Alaskans believe that the baby is the first child of her seventeen year old daughter she so prominently displayed at the convention. Number two is on the way. I do have a great deal of sympathy for her kids and husband.

Alaskan Politics

After our ( probably indictable) governor, Frank Murkowski, appointed his daughter ,Lisa Murkowski ("she was the most qualified person in alaska "he could find) to his senate seat after he won the election for governor, alaskans passed an initiative which prohibited the governor from appointing a successor . The successor must be elected within a short period of time. Governor Palin is very popular as she won election over Murkowski on an anti corruption platform. It's looking good for the democratic candidate, Mark Begich, a popular mayor of Anchorage. Keep watching...Don Young, our sole congressman who has spent over a million dollars in legal bills this year , is next.

Hillary's

Has anyone noticed that since Obama began hiring all of Clinton's campaign strategists (particularly her fired chief of staff) that every decision he has made has resulted in outrage from the people who brought him to the nomination? He is now courting AIPAC, Evangelicals, telecoms and war mongers. I heard he was a bit like Kerry. Kerry looks like a champion next to Obama this past three weeks. Why are democrats so stupid and self destructive? Why on earth hire the staff that lost the nomination of Clinton which had every going for it? This FISA deal will bring him down. And now I am embarrassed by my "Mama for Obama bumper sticker.
