[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joanie Phony again weakens any valid feminist argument with non stop whining. Hillary was all but handed the nomination by the media, the party insiders, the big money people. she was a hide bound cinch. And then she lost. oops. Damned voters. Damned darkies. Listen to the three speeches from last night. The contrasts could not be clearer. McCain was embalmed. Hillary was all about herself. Obama was visionary, gracious, transcendent. Poor, poor widdle Joanie. No one to piss and moan about any more. Sweep up after the pity party. Weak. Just pathetic and weak.

very encouraging
[Read the article: Reid: "Lieberman is an important vote for this caucus"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So, Obama doesn't have guts, eh? I would LOVE to see film of that encounter. I hope he told the little pissant that after the landslide in November, we'll have a cushion in the Senate and Joementum can take his "senator from tel aviv" act to the other side of the aisle where it belongs. Lieberthing has been asking for an ass kicking for a looooooong time, and it sounds as if our presumptive nominee just gave him a metaphorical one. Love it. The man keeps growing. This could be very good. jeff

[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama, born in the sixties, is a boomer? that demographic canard is bullshit. The baby boom, post WWII, is from '46 to, say, 58 or 59. The "boom" was the drastic increase in birthrate because men were home from the war to impregnate other folk. Usually women, I think, and, fairly often, their wives. There was a generational identity. Having been born in 1947, I was smack in the middle of it. Obama was born the year I graduated from high school. We're a generation apart. To conflate those born in the sixties and later with the occasionally charming, and often self-indulgent, generation born directly after world war two is nonsense. And why the hell does it matter? Geo. W. McLame isn't a boomer either. he's a warmonger, and is cut from the same cloth as the generation before me. His mind, or what remains of if, is wired old school.Obama is only seven years older than our oldest daughter. They're in the same generation. Get a grip.

Yes, but....
[Read the article: Democrats, put down your swords]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Only Hillary can make this right, after her self indulgent performance on Tuesday. Fine. Take a few days. Compose yourself. But, this Saturday, when the alleged concession takes place, it must be done with enthusiasm, no self pity, no blaming, and all the acid saved for the man who so richly deserves it: Warmonger McLame. She can do this. But it has to be real, we have to believe it, and she must turn her warrior's mentality into defeating those bastards that have taken our country from us, defiled the constitution, and started an unjustifiable war that will cost this country, in both financial and prestige terms, more than any other in our history. She came very close. Kudos. Congrats. Now, let's get to work. Together. No more pissing in the water supply from which we all drink. Enough of that. Turn on McLame like a wounded tigress. We know you have that in you, Ms. Clinton. Time to cowgirl up. time's a 'wastin'. jeff

gagomatic
[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Did you listen to a word Obama said on Tuesday night? What, in God's name, do you expect of him? He has been, and, I am certain, will continue to be as conciliatory as he can be. But his focus now- right now, not next week or next month- on fighting the fascist lie, spin, and lie some more machine. It's a full time job. Hillary's job is to concede with dignity, and then turn to the task before all of us: take this country back from those bastards. jeff

[Read the article: Democrats, put down your swords]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama had said repeatedly he would be glad to meet her at at time and place of HER choosing. The man has class, whereas many of you alleged "democrats' only have the ass part down. And a nice hypothetical strawman in which angry latte sippers and militant black nationalists fill the street with burning empty Starbucks cups. Spare me. Adulthood awaits. We hope you join us. The irony is, after all this supposedly feminist stalwart was finally defeated, she and her supporters revert to the very behavior strong modern women have put behind them: emotional petulance, petty pouting, pissy posturing. Women who are actually strong, and don't just talk the talk, are full equals and act that way. For the most part, Hillary has done that. Some of her advocates here have done so, as well. Continuing to pick nits and light verbal bags of dog shit on the porch of our conversation and then ring the doorbell- well, that's just helping the fascists. Pick a side. The fence, and all that republikan lite crap we've tried the last two elections, won't slice the ice.
