There was a generational identity. Having been born in 1947, I was smack in the middle of it. Obama was born the year I graduated from high school. We're a generation apart. To conflate those born in the sixties and later with the occasionally charming, and often self-indulgent, generation born directly after world war two is nonsense. And why the hell does it matter?
