  • limp, lame, and late

[Read the article: McCain: "Facts of global warming demand our urgent attention"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is the big "break away" from Bushit energy "policy"? No volume of viagra could stiffen a policy this limp. Get the hell out of Iraq. Spend that money on R&D for alternative energy. Structure the tax code to punish the hell out of gas guzzlers and energy hogs, and reward efficiency. Sacrifice will be needed. Yesterday. Twenty years ago, really, or longer. McCain is more of the same. He's an old bully with a brown nose from dealing with his lobbyist contributors and campaign staff. Same thing. He's gonna lose no matter who we choose.

  • Ray-gun, Tool for Fools

[Read the article: Why Ronald Reagan didn't completely suck]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

the ray-gun 'revolution' (and it was revolting) was thirty years in the making. A New Deal Democrat, ronnie's moment of revelation came when he started to get rich. The gubmint was taking his money. A low-grade intellect and a B grade actor, he became a shill for corporate America, on tee vee (Death Valley Days, others) and on the business hooker circuit, where he honed his single minded message that Washington was the enemy. He became a fascist out of greed, period. His so call Kitchen Cabinet, a group of proto-neocons in Southern California, hand picked him and groomed him to run for governor. He was perfect for them: shallow, dim, but a great reader of lines and an obedient servant. He never had an original idea in his life. He won the governorship of California running against anti-war activists and welfare mothers: you know, hippies and coons. It's the same gospel the fascist base preaches today. He was programmed, sent out with sound bites on 3x5 cards, and his shit eating grin. the lunchbucket, "hard working white american" vote that Hillary prides herself on was the Ray-gun base- and I do mean base. He ran up more deficit than all his presidential predecessors put together. A whore moaning about big gubmint made it much bigger, and never met a weapons system he wouldn't support. He was an affable tool, a willing conscript in the conversion to the military industrial complex we have been strangled by today. His last years were not deserved. No one merits Alzheimer's. I pity him, and Nancy, that. the rest of his career deserves to be mocked and scorned. The demise of America started with his nesting in the White House.

  • R.I.P. tom payne

[Read the article: Hillary enters death-with-dignity phase]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

She was a woman to be reckoned with, that payne girl. profane, profound, but never predictable. Kate Overweight BorntoHate is the butt of such posters as the departed payne. She loathes anyone with a vocabulary that exceeds the fourth grade level. She's a hard working white American, the kind the George Wallace used to draw, but have cleaved in the primary season to our ol' shot n' a beer workin' class girl, Billary. PIty she's doomed. Her victory tomorrow in the land of the brain dead means zero. She'll lose more in super delegates in the next week than she'll gain in Inbred City. By Oregon, the shrew will be down at least 190 delegates. This confuses Kate, since she only understands numbers smaller than 20 or larger than 200 (digits and pounds, respectively). Blessing on poor Katie. The darling buds of May, 12 pack at a time, won't get her through the wreckage of the Good Ship Billary, on the rocks and off the charts.

the only things that matter in democracy are symbolic? Is death in bogus war "symbolic"? Are staving children "symbolic"? Are overflow prisons choked with minority males "symbolic"? Is the degradation of the ecology "symbolic"? How profoundly, amazingly ignorant. On that basis, you declare that Ray-gun was "perhaps the greatest" of our presidents. He was a cardboard cutout. His elections were testimony to the gathering stupidity of the American public, of which your post is a prime example.

always the sign of profound insecurity to have to list your purported "awards". If you're such a big goddamned deal, how come no one's ever head of your sorry ass, and why do you spend such chunks of trailer park time eating Dinty Moore out of a can and sucking up MD 20/20 and typing epithets to such peons as we? If you know it, you ain't gotta show it. you're a GED flunky and a welfare queen. pathetic would be a step up-way up- for your flabby butt.

Texass, I am so abjectly ashamed to have slighted the reincarnation of Mother Teresa. We all pale before your unstinting selflessness, your endless sacrifices, your bottomless bullshit.

Billary's kitchen sink is leaking super delegates, two or three a day. She's been done for months. Only the hopelessly stupid can't see it. they'll be the one posting shortly. jeff

  • ku klux krackers

[Read the article: Racism on the trail]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

this is disgusting, but hardly surprising news. There is a deep vein of loathing for blacks (and jews, and Catholics, and, now, Muslims, hispanics) that is the base of the republikan party, and a significant part of Ray-gun democrats, who are no Democrats at all. They're not going to vote for either Obama or Clinton- they're almost as sexist as they are racist. Fuggem. The only candidate that might have smoothed over this wound, long unhealed, was John Edwards. Not gonna happen now. So, let the crackers cower in their little confederate corner, and let's move past them. I can happen. I believe the phrase is "yes, we can". Si, se puedes. And screw dixie.
