Prominent economists have already projected that, even if this gas tax monty were jimcracked into place, that prices, driven by demand increases, would very soon be just about exactly where they are. Thus, Americans would save nothing. This is as whorish and unvarnished a pander for votes that I can recall. Beyond the Valley of the Pitiful Dolls.

Tie him to a cross constructed of black fundamentalist preachers and washed out sixties radicals, as if they somehow define him. It won't work.
