I supported Obama wholeheartedly and he has disappointed me with nearly every single decision he's made. There is simply no defending DADT. It costs the taxpayers money and it gets our troops killed. Furthermore, rather than maintaining morale, it hurts morale. The troops realize how damaging this policy is during wartime. Those aren't gays that are being tossed aside, they are soldiers, nurses, pilots, and intel personel, all perform critical functions.

Of course Lt. Choi's unit supports him, soldiers who have been put in harm's way understand how important his job is. Irrespective of the inherent unfairness of DADT, it's a policy that has gotten allied troops killed unnecessarily.
