Oh, f@cking spare me. Do we have to talk about this forever? Hillary is on the DNC. The DNC choose to exclude Florida and Michigan. Hillary made speeches in support of this. She continued to make speeches in support of this. Even after the Florida and Michigan results came in, she still continued to make speeches in support of this. Only after Super Tuesday, when it became suddenly clear that she wasn't going to barnstorm to the nomination after all, was she suddenly shocked, SHOCKED, to learn that the Florida and Michigan votes wouldn't be counted. It's not some crazy plan that Obama came up with.
And you know what? Fine, f@cking take Florida and Michigan. Give her the votes and the delegates. Seriously. Let's just have that happen. She'll still lose anyway. Really; I am totally prepared to let that happen, even if it makes no really sense based on her prior words and actions. Hillary? You can have Florida and Michigan, just so I never have to hear about them again. I am just so tired of these garbage excuses...
I love it, in a way. Nothing will stop the crazies. They are endless and forever. You know what, doofuses? I can't stand Hillary, and I would still vote for her over McCain. Nothing could ever convince me to vote Republican. Nothing. Ever. But you guys feel free to continue with your apocalyptic sermons about how it's the end of the world because a candidate who slightly differs from your own is going to win the nomination. Please.
And ShawnWM? I guess if you want to stop Obama from being shoved down our (your) throat, you could go on, say, a mass killing-spree. You could start with the majority of Americans who voted for him, and then move on to the majority of delegates who voted for him... A mass killing-spree doesn't sound so far-fetched, after all, given the general tone of your comments. (And I've had to suffer through a lot of them.)
Anyway, me, I'm done for the night. You guys play nice now. Shalom!
Actually, no. They are people whose letters have been selected by the editor. Not that that is a huge thing to be proud of, but I wouldn't want anyone to think that I was paying for Salon.
I do realize this is totally off-topic. I thought that if you got a red star, then afterwards your name was marked forever afterwards with the gold star. It's not a big point of pride with me, but I've never paid for Salon, and I would remember if I had, right?
Anyway, someone smarter than me about stars and such explain, please.
Seriously, Shawn, I love love love reading your comments. Keep it up. After all... those darn black folk! Forcing us to have a presidential candidate that we didn't want. If only there was something us average white people could do to stop them! ...If only we were the majority... or had any political power...
But no. Those darn black folk, in combination with wussy effete intellectuals, have crammed down our throats a presidential candidate who no one else wanted. My god, what could a renegade political underdog like Hillary Clinton have ever done against the AWESOME POLITICAL POWER of black people and wussy intellectuals. They're the most powerful voting block in the U.S.! Everyone knows that.
There is no hope left for middle-class white voters. They are disenfranchised and doomed. Doooomed now, I tells ya!
Seriously, though, Shawn. I love you and you are awesome.
...Of the new huge talking point for both sides being race, all of sudden. It's downright disgusting when people claim that Obama is only winning because of race. And I'm not a big fan of hearing a continual stream of racial statistics from us Obamanauts, either. Black, white, 20%, 40%, 80%, 90%, whatever. I don't want to hear it anymore.
And Clinton fans: I have always supported Obama; and I never liked Hillary much. And I have left bunches of comments on these forums. But I don't like the abundance of conspiracy theories going on these here, especially in the last few days... It's true -- I don't like Hillary much. Period. But whether she was winning or losing, I never felt the need to say, "Oh, she's only winning because of [insert crazy reason/racist or sexist thought/obscure statistic/convoluted bizarre plan that Hillary would never actually attempt in real life]. Okay? When she was winning, she was winning. And now she's losing. Got it? And I know plenty of crazy Obama supporters who would do the same thing if Obama was losing right now: "Oh, HILLARY'S only winning because of crazy conspiracy theory X, Y, Z." Enough. I'm sick of it.
Support Hillary; root for her to stay in; admire her moxie; her persistence; her experience; whatever. There are plenty of reason to like her. I, personally, feel like she was an okay candidate who got streamrollered by a great candidate. But whatever. You probably feel differently about the whole thing.
But enough, from both sides, of the conspiracy theories. It's childish and undignified, and I'm sick of having to wade through pages of them to get to the actual real comments.
thanks,
Oliver
Hey, ShawnWM. I have never taken you seriously. But I am fascinated by your insanity.
Here's a comment for you. ShawnWM: you are an insane racist piece of human garbage.
Please discuss.
best,
Oliver
