Silent Reader
[Read the article: Why Jeremiah Wright is so wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ms. Walsh,
I am one of your long-time silent readers. I am far from America and do not have the time to post letters. But I registered today just to tell you that your recent postings, especially after the debate have been disgraceful.
You owe your readers an explanation. You cannot simply discount them as "obamabots" anymore.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dear Dr. Rhymes,
I might just print out your response and frame it. Seriously.

@Joan
[Read the article: Why Jeremiah Wright is so wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The cries for resignation are growing stronger, Joan. You can fool all the people some of the time, but to try and fool them twice (post-ABC debate post and this one) within a fortnight is either stupidity or ignorance.

Rufus, You Ignorant *Insert Politically Correct Epithet Here*
[Read the article: Why Jeremiah Wright is so wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]rufus man,
I'm on your side and think Ms. Walsh just doesn't get it, but man, you have GOT to stop! You're hurting your arguments with your own brand of prejudice and paranoia.
In case future posters do not get this: Carol Richards is the funniest poster on this thread. It's called satire, and she is doing it almost to perfection.

The others just don't get it...
[Read the article: When did Obama start running for president?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]... but I do! This post is relevant within the Salon.com alternate universe because it displays, once again, how arrogant, ambitious - nay! - audacious Obama is. Imagine the hubris, the chutzpah - not to mention the disregard for someone as experienced as Hillary and the unmistakeable latent misogyny that goes with that disregard - of a man not yet a Senator aiming to become President.
It's enough to leave one scratching one's head in despair. How will Obama recover from Running-Too-Early-Gate?

Did I say "despair"?
[Read the article: When did Obama start running for president?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I meant "concern".
I'm scratching my head out of concern that Republicans will attack Obama using this Damning Expose.

Thank you unschooler
[Read the article: George Bush is John McCain's Rev. Wright]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]for that most interesting poll. I followed the DKos link to MSNBC's original poll hoping to get some democrat/repub breakdown, but no luck. I don't know if we can get that data at all.
Here's what caught my eye about the data we DO have, and I'd appreciate it if someone corrected me if I'm completely wrong on this: polarizing issues. I.e. when "Major Concern" and "No Concern" have roughly the same percentages. I spot three:
4. Clinton honesty: Major-31, No Concern-31
5. Obama bitter: Major-34, No Concern-34
6. Obama values (the Wright question-no pun intended): Major-32, No Concern-36
I don't think the others are within the poll's margin of error.
I think this illustrates the problem we have had with Ms. Walsh's approach throughout this last week. She has focussed her writings (and, unfortunately, most of Salon has followed suit) almost exclusively on the polarising issues featuring Obama. If she had written on flagpins (No Concern - 59 percent), we would have been able to ignore her.
Now she (and Salon) might claim that it is precisely because 34 and 32 per cent of the population are worried about these Obama issues that she/they are writing about them. What then about Clinton's honesty issues - specifically her Bosnia question? I haven't read much about that this past week, but clearly 31% of the population cares about it.
I have given Ms. Walsh the benefit of the doubt, thinking that her own circumstances in life: (i) makes her think that the Hillary flap was insignificant and (ii) blinds her to how her focus on "Wright-gate" is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way. But the polls she quotes clearly shows that Hillary's honesty is STILL as much an issue to voters and we would like to get an entire three day's worth of coverage on the Bosnia flap, including a panel of "experts". That might rub 31% of the population (to whom this is no major concern) the wrong way, but Ms. Walsh is already used to that, isn't she?
This last week I have read so many letters - far more eloquent and well thought-out than mine - calling her out on her unholy fixation with Wright. I have seen her ignore almost all of them, so this particular effort seems futile indeed. *sigh* At least it's a holiday here. Happy May Day everyone (or whatever you celebrate).
