Original article: Nobody's dummy

If Camille Responded to her critics, I imagine it would be like this... (not really)

I say - let's make this post well-known in conservative circles! Camille Paglia, no less, claims that Sarah Palin is a big, fat feminist!!!

So the left 'owns' the definition of 'feminist' now? Interesting.

Sarah Palin is the hero of yesterdays feminists. Yes, those bra-burning, sex-loving, equal-pay demanding, work-outside-the-home, latch-key kid mothering feminazi women that conservatives love to hate, think that Palin inestimable.

This makes no sense, as Palin [apparently] loves sex, demands equal pay (one assumes), and does work outside the home. Yet she still is and considers herself conservative and others agree.

Where most of us see vagueness, feminists like Paglia see intelligence and insight.

Better to always be certain and to move on that certainty? Like Bush maybe?

CLUE: it is largely about 'process', not about brute force knowledge. Someone may not know who the king of Buttanustan is, yet may be a brilliant tactician or strategist or analyst.

Where most of us see attack-dog meaness, feminists like Paglia see strength and wile.

Get off it. Libs are some of the meanest people around.

In Todd Palin, where most of us see him using SARAH'S power as a piggy-back for HIS, feminists like Paglia see Todd as a feminist, too.

Here is the nub, isn't it? If a man benefits, it must DE FACTO not be feminism, by the leftist's very definition of feminism. No wonder I cannot stand the left, they feel gender relations is a ZERO SUM GAME and that men must lose at all times. I have more and more suspected that the left just outright despises men. This continual din of anti-male chatter, this constant spilling out of the prejudices against men ultimately damns you people.

Of course, to you people (peh.. used loosely), it was perfectly OKIE DOKIE that Miz Hillary was riding the coattails and benefiting from her husband.

Oh, and no man could EVER be enough of a feminist in the left's eyes. Particularly if he does heinous things like own a gun. It is not enough that Papa Palin raises his kids. He is JUST a mere man.

This ought to really appeal to the Palin's religious right-wing base, doncha think?

Except that they are not locked in their head-up-the-ass prejudices and stereotypes and broadbrushes like you are.

the problem with the left is that it long ago confused the map with the REAL WORLD. Step back from your theories and ENGAGE. We are tired of the rootless rhetoric traipsing around as if it MEANS something.

Naloorider

your post is a breath of fresh air that is badly needed, especially around here.

it seems every time a male pipes in here about his personal experience being a male, he is summarily dismissed, called names, etc.

so it is good to hear how what you perceived as a female about males has changed when you actually became a male.

such perceptions and perspectives may open new lines of dialog and understanding between those men and women still open to dialog and sharing and mutual respect as opposed to, for instance, loathing of the opposite sex based on misunderstandings.

look forward to, hopefully, hearing a lot more of your perspectives on life.
