Original article: Dude, where's my manhood?

You make a lot of good points, lestat - pt 1

in the foot with your Palin love.

Palin is exactly the type of woman you claim to loathe!

Palin is a former beauty queen who is married to a rough and tumble oil man who makes 100 grand a year in Alaska. That is a pretty high salary for Alaska.

Beauty queens per se are not good nor are they bad. Some happen to know better than to let their genitals point the way to the local bad bastard. I knew a cheerleader in college who would make any guy weep, she was so beautiful, but she was also humble and sweet and happened to like hanging out with me. She was also clever enough, despite SEEMING brick stupid, to know what kind of guy was a good person.

Also, same with rough and tumble guys. I grew up around that, being the kid of working class immigrants. Many of those guys have hearts of gold and they support their families thru thick and thin, no questions asked. My dad was one of them.

Now, Palin is NOT my type. The cutesy poo does not fly with me. Frankly, I am not attracted to her. I had a chance to date and marry a girl very similar looking to Plain a few years ago, a friend of my brother's wife, but I cannot deal with the overcaked face and the cutesy attitudes. I like REAL women who can be humble and get down and dirty instead of being dolled up (ironic, since Palin sure seems capable of this too)

She has a son who is going off to war, but her daughter won't. She won't make her daughter sign up for selective service will she? I doubt it and pregnancy is no excuse, I know two women who got pregnant during their military service, they still have to serve.

Can Palin wave a magic wand and make it happen? But do you think a Palin or a Hillary have a better chance at forcing selective service on women? Frankly, the chance of it is ZERO either way, since women in America are in the curious position of BOTH being given advantages over men AND crying that they are DISavantaged, and nobody even questions it. YET.

Her daughter is pregnant by a self proclaimed redneck who likes to play hockey and will kick someone's ass. Palin's husband is not Mr. Mom considering we learned he spent a lot of his off season time with her at the governors office, meaning a nanny was tending the kids. I also noticed her daughter was holding her son Trig a lot more often that the childs father was. He seems about as good ol boy as you can get.

I'm neutral on this one. Men should have the freedom to be accepted as a Mr. Mom, but not be forced into it.

Do you ever notice your own contradictions? Palin is exactly the alpha female who wouldn't look twice at you while she's banging her oil man. Her daughter wouldn't look twice at you if you were her age cause she's banging her hockey playing redneck boyfriend. That woman you so revere picks exactly the type of men you say you think all women are dumb for picking!

I never have been able to be successfully cornered yet in any substantive way by anyone arguing with me on these boards.

Partly, this is due to the consistent internal geography of my worldview. It is true that it is difficult for me, or anyone like me, to state completely a set of thoughts, along with all the associated ruminations, without seeming like I contradict myself. But that is what further questioning is for, for someone else to see all the threads of thought that lead to my conclusions.

But sure, on a cursory look, it may seem like I contradict myself. One has to take an expansive attitude towards anyone with a complex worldview and assume that that person indeed has some internal consistency in their thinking. But people who disagree with me often think the worst of me, so I can understand your skepticism.

As to your point you make. I suppose there needs to be a distinction made between bad boy bastards who are useless and guys who are good men, who act tough and like bad boys and can put on the mean act.

There is a subset of men who are indeed good men who are also bad ass men. Some women are fortunate enough to snag these sort of men. But these men are few and far between, and sometimes even one that seems like a diamond falls and becomes an asshole too.
