1. The fun she gets from killing wolves (like Cheney gets his fun from killing birds released from cages-- this type of behavior tells you a lot about a person.)
Get over it, hunting is necessary so people can eat. Should she be crying while doing it?
2. Her spendthrift ways-- leaving a small town in 22 million dollars debt.
This is bad, both Reps and Dems are running this country into the ground overspending money they do not have (Bush is indeed the worst at this)
3. Wanting to outlaw abortion in cases of rape and incest-- wow. That's feminist, all right.
Abortion after, say, the first trimester or the halfway point SHOULD be a crime. Hopefully Palin's extremist view (if you are indeed describing it accurately) leads to a decent compromise between extreme allowance of abortion in all cases, and in no abortion whatsoever. This is good, regardless of what whiny supposed feminists (but really man haters) want.
4. Wanting to outlaw birth control like the Pill (where conception takes place, but implantation cannot)
No comment. Birth control is not necessarily a bad thing.
5. Using her position of authority to circumvent the law (for example, when Alaskans voted to abolish aerial gunning of wolves, she ignored it. Talk about the power of the people.)
Not a purely republican ploy. Democraps engaage in such willful defiance all the time too. So what was your point?
6. Hiring lobbyists to secure 27 million dollars from the Feds-- yes, that would be yours and my tax dollars. Whoopee.
Bad, Dems and Reps both engage in this far too much
7. Ignoring science about global warming.
Blow it out your ear. The sun is heating the Earth, as is Al Gore's profit generating blowhard rhetoric.
8. Her drill, drill, and more drill mantra is no solution for our energy needs. No talk about investing in alternative fuels in a large way.
We need ALL solutions on the table.
9. Her connection to the Alaska Independent Party. The leader, Vogler (sp??) has screamed: I have no use for America or her damned institutions. (And their motto is "Alaska first, Alaska always.")
Frankly, so many Americans are fed up with this high speed race both parties are engaged in to turn this nation into a socialist/fascist police state that I am surprised more people are not into Independence parties. So you WANT a FASCIST state? You're on the wrong side of history buddy.
10. She wants to delist the Polar Bear. Our laws were put in place to stop species from being extinct, and she wants to gut the endangered species act (signed into law by a far more progressive Republican than she'll ever be.)
There is much reason to believe the Act was designed to give government a massive hand in fascistic control over the populace. Maybe it does need to be revisited.
11. She's against stem cell research. Another wow.
I agree with you on this. It is stupid to bea against something that can help people.
12. Her religious beliefs and how they affect her reasoning (God wants the 30 billion dollar pipeline, according to her.)
This does scare me.
13. She's a political steamroller, the "my way or the highway" type person. Sound familiar?
Lots of leaders in both parties have been like this.
"abandon all hope of getting through to MerelyBrighstarMortal65."
Oh, I get the message LOUD AND CLEAR.
There is only one way to think, and you people will not finish trying to program me until I am brainwashed (or pretend to be) into the liberal BORG mindset.
The sad thing is, 'liberal' used to mean SO many good things.
I am a life-long feminist but I have never believed that simply putting a woman in a position of power would raise the status of the rest of us.
Women's status is already ABOVE men's
You women do not have to go fight wars.
You women can unilaterally decide if you want kids (men cannot, if you did not know this).
You can ruin a man's reputation with false allegations of rape and get away with it.
You women can unilaterally decide to abandon a marriage and STILL get the house and kids.
Frankly, you seem out of your mind. The problem is your sisters believe the same things you do, that women are the victims.
Sad for you and your sisters when you are routed YET AGAIN come November. Nobody wants your man hating extremism.
She is not pretty and she is not half the Woman that Hillary is!
You are severely deluded.
Men do not like ballbusters like Hillary, weak or powerful. They do like sweet women, weak or powerful.
You are upside down on this.
Men exist too on this planet. Men have opinions too. Live with it.
Palin is a total "sell out" to male chauvinism. The sad and insidious thing about it is she and the GOP are seducing many of us down the same twisted path by exploiting our gender. We are being seduced by of a false illusion of obtaining and securing political power while operating under an oppressive and subservient "old boy system." That is an oxymoron that will never work. Palin stands for everything that Hillary Clinton and all true feminist were /are fighting and railing against!
This makes no sense. Being pro gun and pro oil means chauvinism? Hillary was against this? This is an old boy system? Or is it the system of the power structure, which benefits the rich- men AND women?
The old boy system sure does a good job of protecting and granting women privileges at the expense of the men around them. Not a 'boy' system at all...more like a 'girl' system.
you pretty much summarize my personal view and, I suspect the view of every educated male who is not an extreme liberal.
