Those who don't know history are condemned to repeat it....
[Read the article: McClatchy reports on shift in Iraq propaganda]
[Read more letters about this article: Here][Tiberius]: Glenn...
believes that we are illegal occupationists of Iraq, so it doesn't matter if they are Al Queda, All Queda off shoot or murderous Iraquis that from the Saddam regieme.
Whoever is trying to kill us is right and the USA is wrong. Until we capitulate to their definition of us Glenn and most people here won't be happy.
This is not "Tiberius"'s first such "straw man", but it is perhaps his most malignant. Glenn has said no such thing, and TTBOMK believes no such thing. "Tiberius" maybe should be appraised of the fate of the sadly mourned "Bart" DePalma, who kept repeating lies about what Glenn had said or intimated.
He needs to apologise, and if he doesn't, I wouldn't be the least surprised to find out that he'll have to find other forums to infest for his future rants.
Cheers,

@ Tiberius
[Read the article: McClatchy reports on shift in Iraq propaganda]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Glenn states we are occupiers and he doesn't think we are in Iraq for legal reasons.
That's not all you said, and you (and I and Glenn and everyone) knows it.
Yes, we are "occupiers". Denying that is to deny reality. Too bad we made such a bollix of it. Certainly too bad for the 3000 or so U.S. troops that have died since the "end of major combat", and certainly for the half a million give or take a hundred thousand dead Iraqis.
Was the "occupation" "legal"? Not in my book. I don't think in Glenn's book either, but legality wasn't what he was talking about in that snippet of yours, and he certainly didn't say it was illegal there.
But just to set the record straight, here's the rest of what you said:
... so it doesn't matter if they are Al Queda, All Queda off shoot or murderous Iraquis that from the Saddam regieme.
Whoever is trying to kill us is right and the USA is wrong. Until we capitulate to their definition of us Glenn and most people here won't be happy.

Tiberius almost gets it right....
[Read the article: Standards of American justice under George W. Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Tiberius: In Glenn's world hicks is more believable and Iran is more compassionate.
Hey, Tibby (or is that "Tubby"?): You misspelled "Dubya's world". Because it is Dubya -- with his lying, his dissembling, his secrecy, his amorality, and his 100% wrongness -- that has created this "world" that has made us more likely to take the word of Hicks (and others too; this is not just the account of Hicks) over the words of our maladministration, and to think that perhaps the Iranians don't look quite so bad in comparison. "Heckuva job, Dubya!"
Cheers,

Shorter "shooter" (if that's possible)
[Read the article: Standards of American justice under George W. Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]... he [Osama bin Laden] isn't a priority at the moment ...
Sounds good to me as the Lovesong Of J. Alfred RWAuthoritarian. Kind of sums "shooter" up in seven simple words. Say "shooter", can we count on you insisting on this as a campaign plank for the Republican party in 2008? Such a simple "talking point" ought to be worth a good 10-15 polling points....

@ RealName
[Read the article: Standards of American justice under George W. Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Or, if you truly believe that the magical infinite liberal can fix all problems simultaneously, why hasn't it happened?
Ummm, we don't. That's why we don't insist that Glenn also rail and even "Uriah Heep" about the injustices of the death penalty and the Great War on Drugs as well as Guantanamo in the same friggin' column!. But there are some that do seem to think that Glenn is "cherry picking" if he doesn't take on all the world's ills all at once in each and every column .... hmmmm, now who would that be?....
Your implication that Glenn cares nothing about -- or has even sub silentio made a pronouncement on the merits on -- a subject that's not in his column is wrong. Not to mention most rational people think it sometimes pays to tackle problems one at a time.
Hey, look, if you think there's issues out there that need attention, go start your own blog, and then you can tackle solving them in any manner that you seem to think wroks best. Methinks that all you're here for is to carp about Glenn, and in part because he is doing (perhaps, in your humble opinion, too) good a job.

@ Kitt
[Read the article: Standards of American justice under George W. Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here][Kitt, re "shooter"]: By the way, Shooter...is the "heh" thing a tick? Like winking or flinching at inappropriate moments just because you can't help yourself?
"Shooter" fancies himself as the next InstaHack, a Glenn Reynolds, Jr. Despite the fact that he's stoopider than Reynolds, even if he matches Reynolds in disingenuousness and fawning sycophancy for the fetid corpose of the Dubya maladministration.
"Shooter" doesn't even have the originality to come up with his own affectations. Sad, really. But not unexpected in such a person.
Cheers,
