There is danger....

[Read more letters about this article: Here][Cheney]:
This leader of al Qaeda has referred to Baghdad as the capital of the Caliphate. He has also said, and I quote, "Success in Baghdad will be success for the United States. Failure in Iraq is the failure of the United States. Their defeat in Iraq will mean defeat in all their wars."
There is danger in building up Osama bin Laden to be much bigger than he is. In doing so, you run the risk of really looking like an ass when you find out that you can't "defeat" the thing you've made him out to be. If Iraq fails (as it undobtedly will), you've now given that "victory" to Osama, when in fact he had litte to do with that inevitable denouement. Absolute stoopidity.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]There is no analysis in this post. Like most netroots bloggers, and bloggers in general actually, it is all bashing, and way short on substance. But that's the point. Greenwald gets to vent about Cheney and intoxicate himself on the notion of abandoning Israel as an ally, and he hits the sweet spot for all his idiot readers. Let's continue cheering on the demise of print magazines. Who needs that plodding thing called substance when we have THIS?
There's plenty of analysis. You missed it. Glenn says that waging war on Iran (not to mention Syria, Lebanon, Libya, and whoever becomes the next Great Satan) ain't gonna help the Israel/Palestinian peace process, much less the good ol' You Ess of Aye....

[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is documented fact. Both sides acknowledge that Israel indeed did attack and sink the unarmed USS Liberty. Israel claims it was a mistake.
Slight correction: While the U.S.S. Liberty was attacked by Israel, and many crewmen were killed and wounded, it did not sink. That hardly mitigates the crime. James Bamford does a pretty good job of describing what the U.S.S. Liberty was, what it was doing, and why the Israelis wanted it "out of the picture" (in his book "The Puzzle Palace"). The subsequent "investigation" was a horrible whitewash.
Cheers,
