Original article: Chris Matthews' mea culpa

Sensitive feelings

It really gets my goat when people refer to the root cause of sexism (and racism) as hurting people's feelings. It's also very much a socio-economic problem. Identity politics, as tired as they have become, should not be about offending people, but about bring women, minorities, and minority women up the socio-economic ladder.

I think Chris Matthews should be reminded that he can be replaced not because he is insensitive to viewers' feelings, but because he is not nuanced, eloquent, or even-handed enough for our consumer needs.

ABDC

I think it's "America's Best Dance Crew."

Original article: I Like to Watch

Me, too!

I like to watch ABDC, too, Heather. I couldn't quite put my finger on why I liked it as I tend to dislike competition shows. But I think you nailed it. The charm from this show is in these young people who are working hard towards something creative, and dare I say, positive? Somehow it makes me want to be a part of group.

Kona Coffee

Funny, how you never mentioned Kona coffee. For us in Hawaii, it's local and delicious. I like it made with a French press, but the drip method is great, too.

Wow

I liked this article. I don't think I would ever buy this car as I live in Honolulu and the parking here isn't so bad, but when I did live in San Francisco, parking was a nightmare and I can completely relate to why this car would be attractive to a couple that already had another car for those "Ikea shopping sprees."

On another note, I think it's pretty funny how some posters personally attack you, Farhad, and that you actually respond. Wow, I mean, if they were to write to a TV show or even to the Times with some gripe the anchor or journalist would never respond.

Well, I liked that you didn't shave. You probably didn't have time after answering all those queries about the car. And I'm kind of tired of the notion that people who deliver news are supposed to look a certain way in order to be credible.

Left-leaning, rich (via their parents) white hipsters who pretend to hate hipsters and love the environment

I think that would be a better title for his blog. Stuff White People Like is so vague.

Or...

are you writing this article so that right-wingers will feel better voting for him?

Original article: Bacon mania

It's Bacon!!!

Beggin' Strips. Dogs don't know it's not bacon. Anyone else remember those commercials? I get this weird feeling every time it comes on. The dog's frenzied need for bacon is just too human and then we give it fake bacon!

Original article: Goodbye to Machinist

I don't know why

everyone is so upset when they can just go and read you at Slate. It's not like you're a next door neighbor going to a foreign country. Okay, I DO know why they are upset. I love reading your column and now with the move we fear you might be more confined to technology blogs. I always thought your best work was when you applied your tech mind to other things like Avon and McNulty. It was a fresh perspective among all the other cultural critics. I like Slate just fine...I'll be visiting it more often to read your column.
