The letter from Leahy and Specter was a masterpiece of understated humor.

I particulary loved the part where Leahy scratched out by April 27, 2007 and scrawled within a week, eerily reminding me of the Sharpies ads now appearing on your television screen.

It would have been nice if Leahy annotated the letter further, like maybe sticking a you fucking moron after: The questions asked by Senators hsould not have been a surprise . . .

I certainly look forward to a return appearance of Gonzo AGAG when he is unable to respond in writing in a timely manner. Maybe him and Condi, Andrew Card and Monica Goodling can car pool and save the taxpayers some dough when they double-date and haul their lying asses up the Hill to testify.

This mindless bitch probably thought she suffered "more than anyone else" when she ran a stop sign

at 50 mph, t-boned that Corvair and killed 17-year old Michael Douglas deader 'n a doornail.

In truth, Michael's family may have suffered more, and, similarly, the families of the actual servicemen and women who are killed or injured in Laura's asshole husband's vanity war have probably suffered more than sociopathic narcissists George and Laura Bush.

Fuck 'em.

I'm really looking forward to the point in time where justice starts hurting Gonzales.

A 3-10 sentence in Leavenworth would be a damn fine start.

Sorry, Elephantman, there has been at least one crime committed . . .

when Gonzales first testified to the Senate - he said he had no discussion, deliberations or communications concerning the firing of the US attorneys . . . and we know for a fact he did - President Bush recalled one such discussion with AGAG - unless you're calling Bush the lying sack of shit he is.

Additionally, Kyle Sampson testified under oath that Gonzales was mistaken - a polite word for a lie. Once Monica Goodling is heard from - and she will be, I assure you - Gonzales' exit will be only a matter of time.

Well - we don't really KNOW if he violated any laws.

Funny thing - altho AGAG cannot recall any conversation, discussion, deliberation, meeting, communication, correspondence or conversation relating to the firing of 8 US Attorneys - he was able to assure the Judiciary Committee that nothing improper occurred.

Huh? How would he know?

He DOES remember making the decision to fire the Attorneygate 8 - but, as he replied to the followup question, he doesn't recall WHEN.

I personally think he's trying to set up an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) claim that, based on some extreme form of aphasia-like workplace memory loss, a recognized medical condition. It would be illegal to terminate him due to his medical condition.

I think Alberto is trying to set us an ADA defense . . .

The Americans with Disabilties Act does not allow emnployers to fire employees for recognized disabilities . . . and Alberto Gonzales' astounding inability to remember details of ANY SINGLE MEETING he has ever been at appears to be Ebola-grade aphasia or early onset Alzheimers. Now that you mention it . . . his answers are beginning to sound a lot like Ronald Reagan responding to Iran/Contra questions.

It simply wouldn't be fair to hold him accountable for the inability to remember given his condition.

A dark day perhaps . . .

but it's like lancing a boil. We need to drain the toxins from the Body Politic.

Anonymous: Idiot, Asshole or Both??

And let me make it clear I'm talking about THE anonymous - not all the other good albeit anonymous folks out there.

Bill Clinton was inaugurated on January 21, 1993. It is normal process for US attorneys to be replaced when a new administration comes in - particularly when there is a change of party (you fucking moron) - so Clinton's replacement of US attorneys was Standard Operating Procedure, and the US attorney in the Rostenkowski matter was not singled out for special treatment in any way whatsoever. And - as has been pointed out - Rostenkowski's was convicted anyway.

So - your entire allegation of partisan political interference is merest supposition - supported by no facts or documentation - and proposed by a "fucking moron" - if I may quote myself.

It's like saying that early this morning you farted in bed - shortly thereafter the sun came up - and now you claim your offensive gaseous emissions cause the sun to rise. I don't think so.

Dear Buffalonian:

I have had the misfortune to spend time in both Texas and Oklahoma - and believe me - part of the agony is the fucking stupid accent - compounded by the arrogant and derisive way that Bush starts droppin' the g's when it suits his purpose.

What - we can't make fun of the squinty eyes, the jug ears and the lizard lips either??

Note to Buffalonian:

That way, everyone can know you think the President is a yokel and an idiot.

Actually, Grieve's process as you describe it rises to the highest level of journalism - because Bush IS a fucking yokel and a freaking idiot. It's not just what Grieve "thinks" - it's a fact, Jack.

Why doesn't talking asshole John Derbyshire drop in on Baghdad and clean up the mess as he is clearly one helluva man?

My understanding of the weaponry in this mess is the shooter had two 9mm automatics, and plentiful clips. 9mm's typically have 9-14 shot clips, and you can change clips in a second and continue shooting.

As an experiment, let me go into Derbyshire's house, blast off 14 shots in 5 seconds, fire off another 14 in 5 seconds, slap in two more clips and see how fast Mr. Superhero is at jumping me and getting the two 9's out of my hands before his head gets blowed clean off . . .what an idiot!

Not to mention the fact that his crazy kid shot 50 people - and 33 died. That's an amazingly high kill rate as far as I'm concerned, and indicates a competent shooter.
