Hey, look, it could've happened to any of us.

Put yourself in the CIA's position. There you are, workin' hard, trying to get a recommendation for promotion, when they ask you to waterboard some poor schmuck. So you do. And . . . HEY . . . this is kinda fun.

You're scaring the shit out of these powerless dweebs, they're shittin' and pissin' themselves every time they see a washcloth, they flinch when you wheel in the Diehard and the 8 gauge jumper cables . . . and the boss thinks you're doing a crackerjack job. Life is Good.

And then one morning you wake up early and you're lying in bed and you realize: HOLY FUCK, some people might think what I've been doing is ILLEGAL. CRIMINAL, even.

So you go into the boss and say, </>Chief, I hate to be a fucking wet blanker, but I ain't gonna hook up the jumper cales to Achmed's nutsack anymore until you get me some CYA paperwork from upstairs.

AND THE REST IS HISTORY.

Like many sociopaths, bullies and draft-dodging chickenhawks, Bush & Cheney

talk big, but would wet their pants if they had to do any actual fighting. Both of these alchoholic creeps are totally bereft of empathy, and think only in terms of their own aggrandizement.

Original article: "Straight talk" of the day

McCain couldn't find a terrorist if the terrorist bit him in the ass.

Where would he look Czechoslaovakia? The Belgian Congo? Tanganyika? You know damn well he can't boot up the computer, put a new message on the answering machine, or figure out how to go to the last channel with the remote control.

If . . . and its a very BIG IF . . . Pelosi, Hoyer, Rockefeller and Harman had a shred of integrity . . .

they would resign forthwith for aiding and abetting, both before and after the act, the criminality of the Bush Crime Family.

George Bush has publicly admitted ordering warrantless wiertaps . . . he merely claims the law does not apply to him. We know, thanks to the Red Cross, that the United States has committed war crimes, torture to be specific, in violation of US statutes and treaties. We know that the orders for such interrogation techniques came from the very top: Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld.

We know that Congress is granted explicit power and responsiblity to impeach and remove the Executive if he commits high crimes or misdemeanors.

If and when the Bush criminals are brought before a tribunal, there should be space left in the dock for the Democrats who enabled and covered up the crimes.

Damn. Them Diebold techs are gonna have to put in a shitload of overtime

to figure out how to fix THIS election. Maybe Florida will just purge ALL African-Americans from the ballot . . .

Or French-Indochina . . . or the Belgian Congo . . .

Or Tanganyika . . . or British Honduras . . . or . . . .

Apparently the invisible hand of the Free Market

is only operative when giving The Finger to the little guy, beset with job loss, foreclosure, loss of health insurance, flood, famine, pestilence or death.

If a financial sector filled with scum-sucking over-paid assholes is threatened, then by God, the government will keep them safe.

Seems like the bottom line on this is that once again, the lunkheads in the Bush Administration

have been outmaneuvered. Osama bin Laden used 9/11 to lure the US into a foolish war in Afghanistan, and then an illegal and disastrous invasion of Iraq. Thanks to out of control military spending and fraudulent no bid contracts for Cheney's corporate cabal, we have nearly doubled our nations debt to Tne Trillion Dollars (that's $10,000,000,000,000.00) during the Bush regime.

Now Iran, working thru the Shia government that we replaced Saddam Hussein's Sunni thugocracy with, has induced the Maliki government to ask the US to leave or agree to a time table. Bush is already on record as saying; "If they ask us to leave, we'll leave." This in spite of the plans for 59 permanent military bases, the largest embassy on earth, and a $5 billion entertainment complex including Tigris Woods Golf Course. Yeah, that's right, I ain't making this shit up.

WHy anyone want sto be the next president baffles me. Whoever it is will spend 99% ofhis time trying to clean up the most colossal mess in US history.

HELLO: The president may NOT pardon himself.

Otherwise, do you think Richard Nixon would have needed Gerald Ford to do his dirty work for him?

This bodes well for the carjacking lobby.

I understand they have been donating heavily to representatives and senators to pass retroactive CISA (Carjacker Into Stealing Autos) immunity for carjacking Lincoln Navigators and Cadillac Escalades, since insurance companies actually wind up pay for them anyway.

rtf100 -- why don't you just get the fuck out of the United States of America, where we have a Constitution and the rule of law is supreme . . .

and go to some foreign shithole like Russia or China, where the State will protect you from the terrorists. Only gutless chickenshits depend upon the State to protect them.

Patrick Henry said it best: Give me liberty, or give me Death.

You, and Bush, and McCain, and Rumsfeld and Cheney and all the other cowardly thugs have a totally different motto: Don't let them hurt me, please, I'll do anything, just don't let them hurt me.

McCain economic policy = McCain presidential campaign.

They're BOTH DOA. Can't we just cut to the chase and get this over with.

Note to RRDRRD:

Eisenhower was personally an okay guy. The Dulles boys were not. They were Standard Oil lawyers who represented Standard agaisnt the US government when assets were seized because Standard allowed the Luftwaffe to use their tetraethyl lead all during WWII. Ditto for the Nazi-supporting Bush/Walker clan. They were up to their waists in Nazis.

And they convinced or conned Eisenhower into allowing our meddling in Central America, Iran and Vietnam.

The "government" you talk about in Vietnam was Catholic from the top down. Catholics never represented more than 3% of the population. To assert that the S. Vietnamese government was anything but a colonial puppet is absurd.

The other abused canard was the Domino theory, but in order to buy into that you had to ignore the 1,000 year history the Vietnamese had of resisting Chinese hegemony.

Finally, in 1954, when the French were losing, VP Nixon offered them nuclear weapons to use in Vietnam. The French looked at him as if he were a madman. Probably true. SUre, at any time we could have nuked Vietnam and "won". So fucking what. We dropped twice as much ordnance on Vietnam as we did on Germany and Japan combined.

And had we NOT made a major war, there is no way to predict the loss of life that happened when we left would have happened. In other words, the US was a rogue nation and the entire war was a war crime.
