  • Movies as a social hammer; secure under the watchful eyes.

Smoking is now just cause for an R rating. Like sex and drugs and naughty language, etc. So fast food, bad driving, lack of ethnic diversity, unkindness to animals, misogyny and all the other hot button issues should all be a rationale for relegating those films to a R rating as well.

  • Pick someone, flip a coin

[Read the article: In Iowa, Obama reaches toward victory ]

And move on to the inevitable Dem implosion against the weakest GOP candidate in 30 years. It wouldn't be a Dem summer-of-love without it. Of course McGovern backs Obama. He doesn't want to be relegated as the WORST Dem defeat ever.

  • It doesn't matter

[Read the article: A split Democratic decision]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Dems will spend the next 8 weeks focusing on the ever important left handed lesbian Samoan circus midget vote in Nebraska while McCain stumbles his way to yet another GOP accidental victory. Good job, assholes.

  • As opposed to Darfur

[Read the article: Has life in Iraq improved?]

Where all the rallies and banners and well wishing have produced such stellar results. Bottomline, 4/5ths of the world is a squalorous shithole and being there or not being there makes zero difference. The best thing we could have done in Iraq in 2003 was pull up the lawn chairs and wait for them to train their guns on each other.

  • No, buy a BIGGER car

[Read the article: The United Auto Workers vs. California]

Because the tax law favors you buying a 6000lb truck classified as a farm vehicle. You get up t0 $24,000 in tax breaks if you do, assuming you're self employed or incorporated or something like that. That way the tax benefit pays for the gas. Assuming of course, if you can afford a $75,000 SUV you know or care what the price of gas is.

  • Just pick someone, anyone

[Read the article: Obama only about 70 delegates away]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Anyone will do. It's not as if the Democrats don't have their sure fired plan to self immolate ready to go. Just do it already. Sign a gay ex-jihadi or Cynthia McKinney to the VP slot. Focus on range and gender victim identity politics, announce that Rev Wright will be put in a new cabinet slot, Secretary of Racial Affairs and make Christiane Amapour the Secretary of State. Just do what you do best and kill yourselves at the last moment. You couldn't beat a retard TWICE and you're not going to beat this muttering half crazy ex fighter jock either. Why would you? Running shit isn't romantic and angry enough whereas being the noble opposition is.

I MUST have those things. I will stab you to get them. I am unable to control my urges.

Pogrom, against their own 300,000 Bahai. 8 have been arrested and charged with, wait for it.......zionism. Homes and shops belonging to Bahai are being bulldozed and torched. I'm sure President Fluffy Bunny Obama will gently talk to them. Why not?

  • Programming problems cause the October 87 crash

[Read the article: Did a coding error contribute to the credit crunch?]

That's a know fact. A reality, as it were. People are taught to trust their instruments, no matter what. And why not when the underlying financials are too complex for people to understand. Traders aren't mathematicians nor at they paid to critique their trading systems. The box said 'go' you go. And as we used to say on Wall St. years ago "Don't look too hard up that rhino's ass".

  • Let's bring back child labor

[Read the article: Indiana Jones and the kingdom of fat kids]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Put those fatties to work in the fields tilling crops. There is nothing like that kind of back breaking physical work to slim you down. I am 100% for that.

  • Public art is supposed to be confrontational

[Read the article: Controversy brewing over King statue]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That's kind of the point of it.

  • Just look it up on Amazon

[Read the article: Live Search Cashback: Microsoft gives you cash to ditch Google]

It's quicker, easier and if you can't find it there, you don't want it.

  • Sure that makes sense, Just Do Me

[Read the article: Ah, the mysterious female orgasm]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sex is about power not love. The more heartless and ruthless you are the more power you have, the better the sex.

Anyway what is it they say? Men use love to get sex and women are the other way around. That's sort of the same thing.

  • Tomorrow on Salon.com...

[Read the article: Obama hires National Journal's Douglass]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama had a grilled cheese sandwich. Obama scratched his ass.

Why is any of this news?

  • I for one am tired of waiting for incentives

[Read the article: Newt Gingrich's fantasy land]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

All we hear about is 'If only the magical Congress would give us free cash to go do something else we could have unicorn farts power the earth for free'. If any of these things are worth doing then they're worth doing with or without a 20 year lead time for our Congress to get off their asses and do something about it. All this is finger pointing. Because when push comes to shove NO ONE will do a damn thing until EVERY OTHER option is absurdly expensive and unprofitable. That's just reality. So the best thing you can hope for is we reach the appropriate level of pain and then we'll suddenly see the necessity of doing something else. And if that something else kills all the large mammals on earth, so be it.

  • does that mean

[Read the article: Obama/Kennedy vs. McCain/Goldwater]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama will bang starlets in the White House too?

  • In NC a teenager was convicted of a 4th Deg felony sex crime

For snapping his friend's bra in the high school corridor. There's nothing like having the whole rest of your life flushed down the toilet at age 16 to appease the soccermommies and their paranoia of everything. If I were this guy I would literally immolate myself in the middle of the courtroom.

  • HIPPA laws anyone?

[Read the article: What's in John McCain's medical records?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It's unethical to demand that anyone divulge their medical records to the public. If anyone else did that to his records it would be a violation of Federal law. There are good reasons for it.

  • Why are you so freaked out?

[Read the article: Lieberman takes swipe at Democrats, Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

He's not a Democrat anymore. You act like the Democratic party is the Crips or something, in for life. You folks really need a new Boogeyman it's starting to sound sad and a little insane. And not in a good way.

  • Good criticism is dying

[Read the article: Who killed the literary critic?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Brooke Allen, Jacques Barzun, Lewis Lapham, Mark van Doren....that kind of clarity is dying out. No one wants it and more importantly, post modernism tells us there's no such thing as right or wrong, good or bad, smart or dumb, merely differences of perspective. Might makes right, Blogger uber alles.

Anyway, in the next generation no one will actually need a formal education past the 8th grade, so what good is thinking or reading anyhow?
