  • Point being this trade deficit is transitional in the long run.

Eventually the goods & services we sell are worth more than the cheap shoes we buy. And eventually all those millions and millions of evil Chinese globalist suburban consumers are going to want more goods and services to consume. If you imagine that China is and will be a self contained self sustaining economy you are wrong.

  • Heavens no, a Jew President

[Read the article: The New York Sun picks up a little Joementum]

You'll get a midget porn lesbian before that happens.

  • Oh I don't know.

20-30 years? give or take. After all this year is the centenary for the discovery of oil in Iran. And look how long it took for all that to get screwed up. In the meantime American companies have to stop trying to compete on cost for low cost items and commodities. Better we make high temperature steel alloys for jet engines than commodity steel I-beams as it were.

  • Heaven is high, and the emperor is far away

Which means, "I have have mundane problems, leave me alone"

  • No probably not.

When Obama came to North Carolina he made a speech at a company in RTP called CREE. CREE is an extremely sophisticated specialty ASIC microprocessor and LED company that owns a plethora of patents on special purpose chips, their design, and manufacturing. Even if some dirt farmers in Vietnam could reverse engineer them it would do them no good. No one else has the skills to make them. Similarly even the vaunted one-off Russian aircraft design bureaus don't know how to make much of the stuff we do. Particularly in the area of materials science, Maybe they know HOW to do it, but they can't REPEAT it reliably and cheaply enough to make it pay.

So on balance we don't do last generations manufacturing very well. We're much better at the next generations' manufacturing.

  • A two income household of $130K would absolutely qualify for a $232K home

No problem, with conservative 30% down 25 year fixed term. Since the median price in the US is right about that it should present no problem unless you owe a gazillion dollars on your credit card now.

  • Isn't the reverse of this commonly understood to create pole dancers?

[Read the article: Purity balls keep dads faithful?]

I mean if you're desperate for your daddy's love don't you generally wind up airing it out for strangers? I'm not sure that's better than this.

Why didn't anyone mention it's one of a long series of movies and has no ending? At least the IJ films can stand on their own.

  • Opinions about opinions about opinions

Let's not make too too much of this, shall we?

  • Yeah but

[Read the article: News from Israel: Bush wants to attack Iran soon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Aren't you the people who maintain that Jpost is nothing but neocon zionist lies 100% of the time? You can't have it both ways.

  • It also said that the US denied the report

It helps if you're quoting something Alex, to quote the whole thing. Of course you'd call the denial lies and then call Jpost lies when it says there's no report of anyone talking about it either.

  • Rule #34 no exceptions:

    There IS porn of it.

Corollary 1: anything that can be used for sex and for anything else, will be used for sex.

  • With all due respect

[Read the article: Joe Klein exposes McCain's ignorance on Iran]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If Zakaria imagines that every Iranian government is just like any other and it never changes thereby invalidating someone's claim that "X" is good to talk to while "B" is bad to talk to, then it's Zakaria who being an infantile dolt.

Otherwise there would be no reason for THEM to talk to us, ever. I mean after all Bush and Obama are both Americans. They must be the same, right?

Yeah I figured. Its amazing you people don't drown in the sink shaving every morning. You're that stupid.

  • Why? It' very simple. Painfully simple really

[Read the article: Why don't those hillbillies like Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because poor people look for concrete specific examples of how such and will help them out personally in an immediate and measurable way. Obama talks in vaporous platitudes without addressing concrete specific actions.

If you want spiritual inspiration, then go to church.

  • Are you the same Andrew who championed the validity of intellectual property a few months ago?

[Read the article: Big Pharma and the bullies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Patent breaking companies do so at their own risk. Reverse engineering drugs is not fool proof AND countries who do it are going to get pushed aside by companies who they've already stolen from. So when the next generation of drugs become available, patent breakers will be left out to get their supply indirectly or illegally. As a matter of public health it's not always a wise choice. Anyway you used to respect IP.

  • So that means

[Read the article: Boys' crisis? What boys' crisis?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

According to the words YOU quoted - there is no gender income disparity treated as a sole independent variable.

Looks like the women have parity. Now stop complaining.

  • So Alex, everyone is lying

[Read the article: White House denies Iran story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Even when they say two completely different and opposite things. The source always lies and the denial is a lie. Uh ok.

  • How does Mass. replace Senators?

[Read the article: Ted Kennedy has a brain tumor]

Does the Gov appoint one or is there a special election?

  • You all want to be mentally ill

[Read the article: The beauty of the geek]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Too bad that art imitates life, or the perception of life imitating art, at any rate. Most good engineers are not antisocial mental cases. Most of them have to be able to communicate with other humans in order to do their jobs. What a shame you portray all of this as some kind happy hippy defect. The Aspergers' de jour.

  • Every drug company on the planet seeks FDA approval

[Read the article: Big Pharma and the bullies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why? Because the US is the largest unregulated drug market in the world.

  • And in South Africa private companies underwrite the costs of AIDS drugs for quasi public access?

[Read the article: Big Pharma and the bullies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why? Because large private companies are the largest employers in the nation and these are the companies whose own workforces are ravaged by AIDS. So it's cheaper for them to subsidize up to 100% the cost of AIDS drugs in the short run. It's not about altruism because SA's own government has a completely negligent attitude toward AIDS, they barely admit it exits.

Private companies are more likely to haggle on the price than governments - because government assert it's some kind of right as opposed to some kind of transaction.

In case you wanted your heads to explode. On the one hand the poor people of the world get cheap medicine and on the other the evil colonialist zionist ethnically cleansing nazi monster machine provides it.
