Dr. Eric Dyson called Rev Wright a prophet on NPR today
[Read the article: Why Jeremiah Wright is so wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Several times. Then he babbled something about German philosophy and looped back to the Wright is a 'prophet' thing several more times. Alluding of course to the belief that Obama is literally the messiah.
That's some crazy shit.

Psychochristians of all stripes
[Read the article: John McCain's "I care about poverty" tour]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Tridentine Catholics, loony Protestants, revisionist assholes who maintain no animals (or people) were harmed during the Inquisition or the Shoah.
Yeah you all deserve one another. We need to give you all 50 million machetes and let you do what comes naturally.

"Working Class" used to be something people wanted to lift themselves out of
[Read the article: This Modern World]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I guess not so much anymore. Well, tell me how that works out for you.

Let me tell you how that's worked out
[Read the article: Flagging America's racial divide]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I live in a county where the schools are regulated at the county level. There are no school districts as such. There is no busing, at least no enforced busing. What they do is they allow parents, more or less, to send their children to any school in the county, space and resources permitting. The result is a chaotic mess of buses flying all over the county, children commuting more than an hour each way, some having to ride more than one bus. Moreover the schools that are in predominately black neighborhoods are shunned by BOTH black and white students. So the county turns those schools into "MAGNET" programs in a hope to change the racial balance of those schools from almost entirely black to a more mixed population while at the same time, getting the utilization of those schools up over the 60% mark. So then what happens is they have magnet programs in black neighborhoods and the black population of those school switches from almost entirely black to something mimicking the racial demographic of the county, about 30%. Then the Black Neighborhoods complain that they 're being pushed out of their own neighborhood schools by the upscale whites. Schools they weren't sending their kids to anyway. In the meantime the poor racially diverse neighborhoods send their kids all over the county and the end result is that while children go to better schools, their parents can't afford the time to travel 20-30 miles to the school to stay current with what's happening there. They don't attend parent teach meetings and they're generally disconnected from their children's education.

Economics is not first and foremost a social engine
[Read the article: The Gilded Age, past and present]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I know you've all been schooled in the steady diet of Howard Zinn and western style faux Marxist twaddle. But Capitalism is neither good nor bad. It's a tool. If this is intended as a polemic against capitalism then I would point out all the collapsing states founded on some flavor of small c communism, Marxism and the like. I would, and I think you would rather live in South Korea or Uruguay than Egypt or Ukraine.

If your attempt is to swing the nefarious Jew vote away from McCain towards Obama
[Read the article: John McCain's bid for American Jewish votes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Which is neither here nor there on its face, I'm afraid Glenn that either you or your followers miss the point that telling a group of people they're evil, untrustworthy, probably disloyal, neonazi warcriminals is probably not the smoothest way to win them over.
Also I know you keep quoting this 64% figure, but that was one survey done one time sponsored by a fairly leftwing group that asserted this outcome already. Perhaps something more balanaced in the name of, oh I dunno, "journalism" is in order.

[Read the article: John McCain's bid for American Jewish votes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]One would think a journalist would not resort to putting words in the reader's mouth.
But at any rate, when you go on and on and on and on day after day carping and screaming about the evil Jew menace which is either thus because it is, or because 25% of them vote Republican, or both then one is left with the conclusion I stated. 2.5% of the population warrants 90% of what you write about, all of it negative. And apparently, we 2.5% are soo powerful and so secretive that we will determine the outcome not only of the election but of the entire world. Sounds like those Church of the Creator people you used to work with.
But that's neither here nor there. If you feel I and mine should be stripped of our votes, citizenship, even residency, then fine. You assert that. We're the enemy, go in peace my son.

I look forward to tomorrow's installment

[Read the article: This Modern World]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I was thinking of Bob Edwards biography of Edward R Murrow. Murrow himself made that comment. He was about as liberal as they come, by the way. You there's nothing innately ennobling about being working class or working poor. It's usually the trust fund communists though who tell you it is. Digging coal, felling trees, picking tobacco are generally things people want and try to rise above. But you're happy with that, more power to you.

so liberals who place the wellbeing of Iraqis above all else in this election are not guilty of divided loyalities
[Read the article: John McCain's bid for American Jewish votes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Interesting. Very interesting. Your handwringing is christlike, mine is treason. I await the next installment of Glenn Greenwalds "Those fucking Jews and all the things they deviously do to screw up America" part 213.
Good think Gary Kamiya now only writes about pinetrees, we wouldn't want anyone to steal the thunder.

Take a step back
[Read the article: Howard Kurtz on why media outlets ignore the "military analyst" story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why on earth would any of you give 30 seconds credence to any ex military commentator on the news about what is fundamentally political not a military issue?
Shame on American Idiots for so much as paying attention to this noise.
Most TV news is paid placement advertising. What makes you think war coverage is any different?
