  • "Not Credible" is one thing

[Read the article: Skepticism toward Bush claims about Syria and North Korea]

Skimming 20 or 30 international sources of news which all say the same thing, more or less and concluding there is a dastardly world wide conspiracy afoot specifically because there is zero evidence to support it is quite another.

Why do you think for instance, all of a sudden the EU is alarmed by Iran's bomb program? Because now or within a year Iran will finally have the ability to lob nuclear tipped missiles into Europe. They probably won't but they will be able to. Someone who looks at a bear and declares it safe because they really really really think bears are cute, is not being rational. And someone who sticks their hand in the bears mouth just because they hate the person who told them not to do it is being retarded.

  • Is that why Emma Watson "accidently" had some crotch shots on her 18th Birthday?

It's like a rite of passage now, get out of a limo and the whole world gets to see whether you're Brazillian, natural or landing strip. I guess whatever sells.

  • Probably the same thing as when Sliders were announced

It suddenly became impossible to get a refurb current model and even new ones were wait listed, hoping you would go away and upgrade eventually.

Any cell phone company which is why Sprint is going down the tubes. And of course that darling of the Left, Wal*Mart. People who don't even shop there scream and pout about it.

  • Take a read from Japan

[Read the article: Skepticism toward Bush claims about Syria and North Korea]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Who's PM said recently that the point of their 'pacifist' constitution was not to simply absorb strikes from foreign nations. This was in reference to some comments from their defense ministry that asserted that eventually Japan would be compelled to become a nuclear state. (Japan has something like the 3rd or 4th largest defense budget in the world now - about $50 billion USD - not bad for a 'pacifist' country, is it?)

So the idea that just because crazy people who claim to want to acquire nuclear weapons to kill you, claim that they don't care what you're response to that is, and then proceed along some path to do that....well I wonder what your tipping point would be? If not even deterrence as you conceive of it works then what would and how many of your own people, say, all of San Francisco, would you be willing to happily sacrifice in the name of the moral high ground.

I'm sure what risks you'd be willing to tolerate. Perhaps you'd be happy to be exterminated as long as no one could ever call you a ruthless warmonger.

  • Protect and survive are two different things

[Read the article: Skepticism toward Bush claims about Syria and North Korea]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

In 1948 when the Arab states declared a war of extermination upon Israel the ensuing war resulted in ~2% of the entire Israeli population killed and 9% wounded or harmed materially. That equates to about 6 million dead American civilians in one year or roughly the population of Chicago and LA combined plus the entire population of Florida wounded or made homeless. And if you shoot back then you're a war criminal. If that's what it takes, then that's what it takes. I am 100% behind you experiencing that.

  • Now everyone's running off to Wiki or Juan Cole to check my facts and bark at me.

  • It's very simple

It really comes down to whether you yourself are bothered by Rev Wright. If you sort-of agree with what he says, if you truly see yourself as an outsider, as oppressed forever and always at opposition to most of what everyone else considers the American experience, then fine, you're in the same corner with him and you don't see much wrong. If not, then no amount of post graduate turtle neck sociology pipe smoking & blogging is going to convince you. I'm as far from Obama's "American Experience" as articulated by Wright as I am from John Kerry's or George Bush's Silver Spoon. None of them have anything to say to me about MY experience. I'm not going to guess or extrapolate or hope those bad feelings I have are wrong. They are what they are. Wright thinks I'm the problem I'm the enemy. Ok, I have nothing to say to people like that. I have little if anything to say to any of you. The American experience? My ancestors came here about 100 years ago not speaking any English with a few bucks in their pocket and they made the best of it. If you're going to sit there from the pulpit of your multimillion dollar Church organization and scream at me about how life in unfair, the deck is stacked against you no-bod-y knows the trouble I se-en, well you can take that and shove it up your repressed ass. You what that is? That's narcissism straight and pure.
