Original article: Greek columns? Really?

A situation of Stonehenge proportions?

To quote Spinal Tap: "F*ck the napkin."

@AncientAssyrian

I am leaning toward believing Trig is Bristol's baby, and that Bristol is currently less than 5 months pregnant right now.

However, supposing Trig is Sarah's baby, you ask how a mother in a high-risk pregnancy could be so reckless?

Maybe she didn't want the baby to survive.

Original article: Pissed about Palin

"Running with McDevil"

A song, by Sarah Palin

(to the tune of "Running with the Devil," by Van Halen):

"I live my life like there's no tomorrow

All I've got, I had to steal.

Least I don't need to beg or borrow.

Yes I'm living at a pace that kills.

Running with McDevil

Woo-hoo

Running with McDevil

You know I,

I found the simple life ain't so simple

When I jumped out, on that road

I got no love, no love you'd call real

Ain't got nobody waiting at home.

"

Thank you to Van Halen, for somehow writing a song so fitting to this election, 25-ish years ago.

@hootananny

Hoot owl said: "Heck besides "Klytus" logging on with his alternate alias and talking to himself and half a dozen other clowns is there anyone left that will even ADMIT to supporting the Obama! shipwreck?"

Looks pretty close to me.

Unless Klytus actually has that much time and that many aliases to respond to all these polls...

Obama and McCain Tax Proposals

From the Washington Post, a very easy-to-read comparison of the candidates proposed tax cuts.

Original article: The Palin problem

I Pity the Fool...

...who gets herself so out of her league that her "supporters" are calling for her withdrawal.

No, but really, I mostly feel embarrassed: for her, and for our country--I can only imagine how non-Americans are viewing this craptacular campaign. (Please, foreigners, we are not all like this woman, I promise.)

It speaks volumes about the judgment of a candidate who is so power-hungry that she would jump at the chance to be veep, despite the fact that she is nowhere near ready to hold the position. (Not to mention how this reflects on the McCain campaign for even considering this woman.) If she can't make appropriate decisions for herself, how can she possibly make a decent decision for the whole country?

I would have had a lot more respect for Palin--despite the fact that I don't agree with any of her positions--had she declined the nomination based on her inexperience, not based on her familial obligations. How hard would it have been for her to say she wanted to remain focused on governing Alaska, and then use that time to develop her skills in areas she is lacking (like, you know, everything but hunting)?

This is only the third election in which I am eligible to vote. I will freely admit my lack of knowledge on elections prior to my adulthood. That being said, can anyone tell me if the vice presidential nominee has ever been changed this late in the game, and how did it bode for that campaign?

W. approved this porno

Maybe if Little had included scenes wherein the porn actors were questioned about their possible ties to terrorist activities (I'm sure one of them knows someone who knows someone who is a Muslim--that's all it takes to be considered a terrorist these days, right?), then this film would have gone from being punished to being used as a how-to guide at Gitmo.

Original article: Palin booed at Flyers game

Clearly, you had to be there.

"Almost deafening" boos? Maybe the clip didn't do the boos justice, or maybe the sound mixer is a McCain fanatic, but really, not "almost deafening."

Go tell it on the mountain.

Let's discuss the ways shouting "Tell him"/"Tell them" doesn't make any sense:

1. Who is the "him" or "them"? Obama and Biden?

2. Who is doing the "telling"? Certainly even McCain/Palin supporters don't believe that either one of their candidates can successfully deliver a coherent message.

3. What are "they" supposed to be "tell[ing] him"? "Hey, thanks for the ride, have fun in the White House!"?

It doesn't make any sense. This (allegedly) occurred at a rally--"tell him" is not exactly a rallying cry, it definitely does not have the ring to it that "Hell no, we won't go" or even that "Kill him" has.
