You thought wrong, Agore... (correction)

+++

The world was already in a very difficult situation when he stepped in. He simply made it all worse, a whole lot worse - so that it is now going to be hugely difficult to dig ourselves out of the whole he has dug for the US and for the rest of the world. (GW Bush along with his Gang of War Criminals).

That should read: hole not whole as mistyped above.

Sorry about that.

Proposed article for Salon: "End-of-GW Bush Celebration"

Salon, I believe you should celebrate the end of the Bush era by running a good selection of the stupid, the awful, the criminal and the ridiculous that GW Bush and his War Criminal Gang have been responsible for over the past eight years. A few suggestions:

Best Bush Headline ever: "The Turkey Has Landed! (Headline carried by The Independent, London, when GW Bush made his Thanksgiving visit to Baghdad carrying phony, [specially-tricked-up-for-photography] plastic Thanksgiving Turkey for the troops. (The whole story from the Independent is worth repeating).

And don't forget "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!", illustrated by GW Bush swaggering on the deck of USS Abraham Lincoln in his dinky little yellow-and-black pilot suit, crotch artfully stuffed with handkerchiefs to demonstrate his manhood.

And of course: "I yam the Decider, that's who I yam!"

Slate has an excellent set of "Bushisms" which would be well worth exploring and bringing to light in this article.

Rumsfeld's "The Known Unknowns" may also be worth featuring.

Then there are the pictures from Abu Ghraib, which Salon most laudably already carried for quite a while - you might republish them now - along with pictures from Guantanamo.

There would be a thousand other things... and you will surely know very well how to make an excellent selection for this long-awaited "End-of-GW Bush Celebration".

Bravo! -- rrheard...

for your response to the poison being spewed by anandasubramaniam and other such virulent presences. I agree about 80% with your arguments. As to the 20% with which I disagree, I shall maybe expand on that in due course. (There are some hints of that in some of my postings here).

To: anandasubramanian "Keep Gitmo open..."

I agree with your recommendation only as follows:

Gitmo should certainly be kept open till:

1) GW Bush and Gang (the whole Gang, including thugs like Alberto Gonzales) are tried for War Crimes;

ii) If found guilty, they should each/all be put into Gitmo for at least 1 year, under the most severe conditions that they approved for those they imprisoned there and/or at Abu Ghraib and/or sent to 'extreme rendition'.

iii) When that necessary job is done, Gitmo should be closed and the US should extend an apology to civil society around the world for what was done by this criminal administration by GW Bush and Gang over the past eight years.
