Articles of Impeachment

To me (as an outsider, an Indian citizen) it seems entirely clear that GW Bush had, through the power he wielded virtue his control of the office of the President of the USA, committed war crimes in Iraq - and he's committed a host of other crimes as well. Also, he has been utterly irresponsible in the performance of his duties as President. Further, he has been utterly incompetent at home and abroad (Iraq; Afghanistan; Katrina; handling of social security, the US economy; application of US resources to US goals and Missions; handling of global issues, like resource depletion, global warming, etc, etc... You name it - it has been done criminally and/or incompetently by GW Bush and Gang!

To my mind, here is the greatest mystery I've encountered in a fairly long lifetime:

How and why have not a majority of US citizens yet effectively come together to act effectively against GW Bush and Gang in regard to the crimes committed in the name of US citizens; in regard to callous disregard of his real responsibilities as President; in regard to utter incompetence he has displayed in every dimension of the joke of his 'Presidential term'? (The wonderful joke of course being played on all US citizens and all others around the world except the neocons who have actually been playing the joke for 8 long years!)

Be all of that as it may, here's the link that I believe should be seen and acted on by all US citizens - Articles of Impeachment, brought by Dennis Kucinich on the floor of the House of Representatives:

http://www.impeachbush.org/site/PageServer.

In case you have already seen it and acted on it, why not consider passing it around? It is claimed on the linked page that over a million US citizens have already signed it - which seems, to me, to be pretty good going, and that will put considerable pressure on the House of Representatives and the Senate who must act on impeachment.

I would certainly have signed it myself if I had been a US citizen. If you disagree about signing those Articles, I would be very happy to know why - specifically, whether those Articles need to be improved in any way, and how that might be done.

'FOR' and 'AGAINST'

Those were pretty good arguments by Thomas F. Schaller (the case against Hillary Clinton as Veep) and by Ed Kilgore (the case for).

Salon would be doing all its readers a great favour if it could make a 'summing up' of the two cases in the form of a table with succinct bullet points: the debate could then probably reach a higher plane, enabling US citizens to think much more productively on this important issue.

[I am not a US citizen, so my thoughts on the issue do not have any real force or relevance. However, as the next President of the US is likely to be the most powerful person in the world, whose actions will impact us all, I do have some 'interest' in who is going to be the next POTUS - for the record, as my mind now 'feels', my view is that Obama should NOT choose Hillary Clinton as running mate, mainly because of her panic-stricken acceptance of GW Bush's desires to make war without at all thinking through the issue herself].
