How to minimize stress in your life (part 2)

Continued from previous, which was cut because of 1000 word limit:

6. Here you will need some background about a couple of powerful modeling tools devised by the renowned systems scientist, John N. Warfield, which would enable you to see the 'system patterns' that exist in that list of THINGS TO DO. Some outline information about John Warfield's seminal contributions to systems theory is available at http://www.jnwarfield.com .

If you would write to me at my personal email id (gs_chandy@yahoo.com), I can send you some information about the approach and about the effective way to model the many ideas you will get, in such a way that you are always clear as to just what you should do at each point of time. You will find that, each day, there are just a few things that you should be doing. Even if your list of THINGS TO DO finally encompasses scores or hundreds or even thousands of items, you will find that, each day, you actually need to think about and act on just a few of them. You will never be overwhelmed by the ideas you get (from yourself and others) about your issue.

The other THINGS TO DO (which you are not currently acting on now) are there in your model, and you will clearly see just how the things you are now doing are "contributing to" the things you are NOT doing right now - so you never need worry that you are 'missing out' on something. Those things that you are not doing are either being done effectively now, or they would be contributed to by the things you are doing now.

Unfortunately, this modeling cannot really be discussed (or even described) effectively in the 'prose mode' to which we are conventionally limited in most forums of discussion; including this one. What happens in the prose mode is that we are severely limited by the relentlessly linear nature of prose and are therefore unable to comprehend or communicate effectively about the multi-linear linkages that characterize the real world that the prose is trying to describe. For issues on which 'action' must be decided, Warfield has demonstrated that 'prose + structural graphics' is required, where the structural graphics displays visually the linkages between factors that conventional prose tends to conceal.

What is now called 'Warfield System Science' (WSS) generally tackles large system problems and issues affecting groups, organizations, etc - it enables groups of people involved in any issue to learn from each other, to put together all the available knowledge on an issue under consideration to create 'wisdom-in-action' on the issue; it requires some sophisticated facilities, such as a well-equipped conference room for group meetings; a trained Facilitator and other support staff; etc.

My extensions to Warfield's work enables individuals to work on their individual problems (such as you have outlined in your letter to Cary Tennis), enables them to gather the best available knowledge on those problems - enabling them to 'put it all together' to create wisdom on the issue.

The required modeling can be done through freely available and downloadable software. Let me know your interest, and I shall invite you to join a 'YahooGroup' where the software is available for free download, with some free (but limited) guidance on how it can be applied to issues such as yours. Or, one can quite easily learn to do the modeling without a computer. I shall be happy to demonstrate how this can be done - but I must warn you: it's rather tiresome, if you approach the modeling in a 'mechanical way'. Approach it 'creatively', and you will find that a computer is NOT the essential thing at all. The only essential requirement is the human mind clearly understanding the linkages between factors in the systems under consideration - which can always be discovered if you train yourself to look for the 'patterns of linkages' in the systems under consideration.

What you will surely find is that you need never be stressed out. You can always arrange to take off from the 'stressful aspects' of your work, or to do all the things you need to be doing in a way that little or no stress is created or generated, by creating 'systems' that can reduce or eliminate stress.

Taking a holiday is often a very good idea indeed - but the holiday should under no circumstances add to your stress conditions! The real issue is to enjoy your work and be happy in it AND likewise your play (holiday or whatever). Yes, yoga and meditation practices can help very significantly indeed - but again, it is the 'state of the mind doing the specific ' that determines how effective these 'tools' or practices are. I've found that sound meditation practice (TM, for example), really does do the trick for me - but it needs to be powerfully backed up by the system I recommend that helps me understand the linkages between elements in the systems I confront or work with or work within.

I;ve removed the summary from sarahnity in order to stick in the 1000 word limit - it's just a few messages back.

Monsters...

Full-scale monster (and puppet-master): Dick Cheney

Mini-monster (and puppet): GW Bush

The whole GW Bush adminsitration is comprised of a set of monsters and mini-monsters.

But it was you US citizens who voted them into power in 2000 (or did not vote but didn't have the courage or the interest in your 'democracy' to rise up against the fraud committed). And it was only you that voted them in again in 2004.

And still you guys have not thrown them out of power, put them in *jail* where they properly belong! (Were it not that I am totally against the idea of capital punishment, I would have said *execution chamber*).
