Original article: Is the GOP a cult?

@Zachary the stalker

You want to stalk me with a shotgun? Fine. I will stalk you without one. Your shotgun won't bother me, I have one too. But when I have no shotgun, and still stalk you, will you get worried? You bet, just like everyone. And guess what, carrying a gun in the commission of a crime carries a heavier sentence, as it should. So go ahead, stalk me with your shotgun.

Knock off the bullshit comparisons. These guys weren't stalking anybody. If that's the best you can do, then you've lost the argument already.

A rejected wannabe author, perhaps?

Criminy. He writes fiction, they are awful as far as character development etc, but they are page turners to enough of us to make him rich, and what is wrong with that? If I could write his dreck, I would, and laugh all the way to the bank.

And what's with this silly criticism that his wife does the research and summarizes it for him? What the effing difference does that make, why is it any of your or our business, and what does it have to do with the quality of the books? They sleep with each and live with each other and write books together under their own arrangements; they don't need your approval.

Next time, pick someone unsuccessful to review, so your envy won't cloud your mind. And oh yeah, try to review the current book, not the author's previous books or his lifestyle.

Don't forget Mormon federal ass licking

The official Mormon line on multiple wives only went away for the same reason they now allow black to become bishops, to make the feds happy. Disavowal under pressure like that doesn't exactly make them smell any better. Thw whole salamander business and the way they pretend to be Christians while the Book of Moron says otherwise, and the Born Agin Christians who profess to believe it while also professing to support Israel in order to hasten Armageddon is all the proof I need that religion is the work of the devil, so to speak.

10 times the oxygen? She's loony

Criminy. Oxygen is 20% of normal air. You couldn't give pilots 10 times as much as the passengers unless you put them on pure oxygen and the passengers on half. If the pilots had even twice the oxygen level, they'd be giddy and the passengers would be unconscious.

She isn't even capable of 3rd grade arithmetic.

Here's what wikipedia says:

Oxygen toxicity usually begins to occur at partial pressures more than 50 kilopascals (kPa), or 2.5 times the normal sea-level O2 partial pressure of about 21 kPa. Therefore, air supplied through oxygen masks in medical applications is typically composed of 30% O2 by volume (about 30 kPa at standard pressure).

So you couldn't safely put the pilots at more than 2.5 times normal, meaning the passengers would have to be at 1/4 normal to make her 10:1 ratio. I don't know how high that is equivalent to, but I am sure it isn't healthy. And I am sure that even if pilots were so evil as to want all the passengers docile thru oxygen starvation, they wouldn't want them dead and they wouldn't want to injure themselves in the process.

She's a loon.

h/t to Isaac Asimov and his Robot / Foundation series

One of the later ones, where their future histories combine, has people who never see ach other except by TV. Not quite the surrogates, I believe (it's been a while), but they also had qualms about going outside and being seen in the flesh.

AK and AR

The AK CANNOT be made by any back yard shop; it was designed to be cranked out by the thousands in stamping factories. The AR can be made by anybody with a CNC machine.

No one cares that the AK is inaccurate past 300 yards. Very few battles are fought at that distance, and it's been that way since WW II. That is in fact why both the AK and AR were designed with such puny rounds, compared to the .30 caliber weapons on WW I and II, because studies had shown that very little killing was done at those long distances and it was more important to have lots of ammo rather than big rounds. The AK uses big bullets with less powder whereas the AR went with small bullets and lots of powder. The AR can kill accurately where the AK is wimping out, but the AK will go thru walls that the AR can't.

No, the AR does not take half an hour to clean. The original design was perverted by Army brass who didn't like puny rounds and the first production versions had the wrong powder (too dirty), wrong bullet shape (didn't tumble properly when it hit people) and that is what gave it its bad rep. They do need cleaning more than an AK or Garand, but not half an hour, no way.

Possibly a reason for the reichwingnuts panic

Obama won by 8 points, IIRC. I suspect that if he had not been black, inexperienced, and easy to tag as a socialist by those who don't know what the word means, he would have had another ten points.

That's a landslide. He probably still would have lost the deep south, but it would have been a blowout elsewhere, and the righteous retards know that much. Simply put, they know Bush blew it, they know they are out of power for at least 7 years, and they know that they need fresh and *realistic* leaders then if they don't want to be out of power for 4 more years after Obama. Hispanic voters increasing, most young voters grew up with their lies, where are they going to get votes from with the current crowd?

Answer: they aren't. Heck, it looks like Texas is going to switch back to Democrat even after the GOP gerrymandered it 'specially. If Texas shuns the GOP, they are on a downhill slide.
