Phooey.

Normally I like Jon Stewart, but this "we're all blowhards" schtick is a typical middlebrow cop-out. The left has not had the equivalent of Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly spewing inflammatory personal attacks, or flirting with secession. We may have blowhards, but they have not been offered bully-pulpits.

And if you think this does not have an effect on their listeners willingness to commit violence I have two names to invoke for you. Joseph Goebbels and Julius Streicher.

Uh, no, Polanski is not a "big hero." But it is possible to have doubts about how

his prosecution was handled and whether or not it's worth extraditing him, without describing him as a "hero."

This headline is an example of an attempt to avoid these questions by hyperbolizing the arguments out of all recognition.
