Our 28th President was a deep thinker , not pushy , and had the corporate media slinging mud at his every move . He was against joining in a war where millions were being killed but the corporate media convinced millions of Americans that going over there and getting killed was a patriotic and good thing . What the media did not say was who would make a lot of money while our Americans died . The media and public got loud enough that the President declared war on another country so millions of Americans went off and got killed in places far away from home so some corporations could make lots of money .

Because of our health care situation thousands of Americans are either going into or facing bankruptcy , being put in the streets because they can not pay what is being charged , losing jobs because the companies can not pay what is charged , and dying because they can not pay what is charged to have regular checkups . With all of these situations in place that are detrimental to the lives of all Americans and designed by Congress and the corporate insurers , the corporate media and Congress has developed a large following of paranoid Americans that want this situation to continue . The corporate insurers and the corporate media along with their friends in Congress will make lots of money with the health care situation continuing as they designed it . What will these paranoid Americans get if they vote for more of the same ?

Joan , The good City of San Francisco has a Public Option that works well . Why isn't the media beating the drums about this ?

For the past several years Republicans have stood up and defended each other and their administration , on talk shows , and in print . Remember the defense of Rush after he was caught with his hand deep in the cookie jar ? Regardless of what was done they are a team that sticks together . The Democrats are a completely different group of people . At the slightest hint of a defamatory remark from the Republicans the Democrats join in the chorus and sing louder than the Republicans . Even talk show mouths like Big Ed and B.P. are going at it . But I think their problem is also maybe not getting a front row seat or not called on to ask a question . My advice is , if you are on a sinking ship do not get in the life boat with Big Ed . He might just pull the plug and drown everybody because of one person he gets "P" ed off at . The only reason the Dems won the last two elections was because of the pain inflicted by the Repubs . Energy costs , health care costs , food prices , sneaky little tax hikes , and blatant crimes just did the the Repubs in , and even their media control wasn't enough to get them a win . But their loss was not by a wide margin and they are working hard to not loose more ground . And with all the help the Dems are giving them they WILL return . And when they do it will be with a vengeance .

People in the last administration (GWB) were in Afghanistan talking to the Taliban during the first bombing of the Towers in NY trying to get an oil pipe line agreement . When the last administration took over they realized the oil in Iraq was easier to take while planning the take over of Afghanistan . The oil pipe line is in place now and until a friendly controllable regime is in control of Afghanistan there will be more blood , limbs , and lives to protect the oil pipe line . Where ever there is oil there is chaos !
