To what advantage do the government schools have to teach the Constitution well?
Don't leave this important task up to the government. Teach your children, grandchildren, nieces/nephews, neighbors.....the Constitution yourself! Copies can be given, discussions can be shared and just maybe America can get back to the way the Founding Fathers planned.
In case you haven't seen it, here's an informative diagram from Slate (7/24) that connects all the lawlessness.

(My signature also links to the website.)
The Gulf of Tonkin and the "surprise" attack on Pearl Harbor are possibly the only two suspicious incidents that "respectable" people readily accept about the atrocities from our government. The "lone gunman" theory of JFK's assassination doesn't even seem to be credible to many intelligent people.
Why is it so easy to believe that Hitler lied and murdered but not our politicans? Is our modern American government really that superior?
LMW writes,
"It's less than a year since Cheney thought dressing up SpecOps or SEALS or whatever as Iranians might be a good idea and we already know about it, and it didn't happen. Cooler heads prevailed, and even leaked it."
Thank goodness! But in which MSM papers/sites did this information appear? If it appeared at all it was very few, to my knowledge, and they certainly didn't dwell on such horrific news. To even suggest such a thing SHOULD be headline news everywhere.
Rouge elements, indeed!
Glenn writes that we need "...an external Commission of the type that investigated the 9/11 attacks -- endowed with full subpoena power...." He's mentioned this in different posts, if I remember correctly.
Anything like the 9/11 Commission is what we do not need! That commission was biased before it began and the report itself is a sham. Full subpoena power would be great, but what good would it do if they refuse to submit?
To paraphrase, LWM seems concerned that Glenn's investigation and questioning may blur the line between the "cult" of those seeking the truth about what happened on 9/11, and the "legitimate" people who wouldn't ever look deeper than the 9/11 Commission's report.
No, we only want to follow the clues and evidence up to a point. We wouldn't want to actually follow wherever they may lead.
Lew Rockwell (lewrockwell.com) has a link to Glenn's article and it's titled, "Police State Not Even Controversial".
"Which is better? Try to run a clean campaign while your opponent goes for personal attacks, or get into the mudslinging and give them even more fodder for personal attacks?"
Can't there be a middle ground? Biden could have easily eliminated the first part of his answer this morning - the praising of Palin - and simply stated the second part in a rather agressive manner.
The attacks don't have to be personal and the compliments should be nil.

My apologies for not knowing where this comes from: "11. Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?
Palin: "Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance."
Do you have a link to the article where this is quoted? It's a gem and I just had to laugh. I doubt there are two more ignorant people ever to have run for higher office. If you have the time I'd love to know the source.
Anne Marie Cox is.....well, I'm too much of a lady to say what I really think. Suffice it to say, she ain't that bright. This is the most telling portion of the NYT article today that Glenn quotes from, but I don't recall this quote:
"MSNBC had reported Friday morning that Ms. Palin’s plane was enroute to the announcement and she was likely the pick. But McCain campaign officials warned the network off, with one official going so far as to say that all of the candidates on the short list were on their way — which MSNBC then reported."
Didn't this used to be called a "scoop"?
"For those still struggling to understand the simple point here...."
You are so VERY patient. A little frustrating for those who find it obviouls, but as a teacher I think you're fabulous!
I know this is an insult to most (don't know why) but I don't mean it to be: You sound very conspiracy theory oriented with your last few posts. Better watch out or you'll be disrespected soon by all those very serious thinkers.
Think Operation Mockingbird is still happening, or something like it?
What a great article to read with my morning coffee as it really woke me up. I laughed, I cried, and I, too, hope others like Maddow pick this up. I'm sending this link to everyone I know.
I'd laugh more if it weren't so serious.
"....economic policy in this country has been dictated by Wall Street for the past two decades because Wall Street (meaning the firms and their clients) owns and funds both political parties."
Certainly true. But nobody ever mentions the major, major role that the unconstitutional Federal Reserve plays in all this - that the institution exists at all is part of the problem.
Biden never even mentioned the lies from the Bush Administration that led people like Biden to vote for Bush on Iraq. I don't think Obama did either. Seems like that would be good to talk about as well so people don't forget.
