Ghost of Malcolm X: "Obama, I am your father."
Obama: "No...No...It's not true...That's impossible!"
I've heard she's godless.
By labeling her a "nondescript" Republican you articulated something I've long felt. Strangely, the Karl Roves and Dick Cheneys of the world do not get under my skin the way their leering, mediocre followers do. Karl Rove is almost cartoonish in his villainy. When Darth Vader destroys a planet, you cannot get angry--that's what Darth Vader does. But an Elizabeth Dole could be mistaken for a compassionate person. That someone like that would facilitate the destructive policies that led us to where we are...argh, it makes me grind my teeth.
I'm not a lawyer, I already donated as much money as I could afford to progressive causes in this election cycle, and I won't be able to exercise my powers as a voter again for some time. The one thing I can do, though, as a unmarried individual in a committed, heterosexual relationship, is to boycott the institution of marriage until it is available to all consenting adults. Furthermore, if you invite GeorgeSmiley to your wedding, you can expect cheap, tacky gifts, loud complaints about the food, and alcohol induced groping of the bride during the reception. GeorgeSmiley will show the Religious Right what a real attack on marriage looks like.
I don't see myself voting Republican any time soon, but any party led by the likes of Harry Reid should not go unchallenged.
Arizona does not have a lieutenant governor. The Arizona Secretary of State fills the vacancy, which, unfortunately for Arizona, is a Republican Sarah Palin clone by the name of Jan Brewer.
but here we are.
Somewhere, in my rush to bring my homemade battering ram to A.I.G., I lost sight of the human element of the A.I.G. Bonus Scandal. This humble "player in the commodity index business" was wrongly blamed for the sins of the financial products division, and felt coerced into returning his $742,000 bonus, despite working long hours to save our economy. He truly is the Jesus Christ of complicated financial insurance, dying for our sins. Only, instead of being crucified, he was compelled to return $700K of taxpayer money, and instead of sacrificing himself for "our" sins, he is doing it because of really bad stuff that his apostles did. But other than that, he's all Jesus.
I can only imagine the suffering of mixed race children, living on the fringes of our society with no hope of ever becoming a billionaire golfer or president of a large North American country.
