@Cat vs. Roomba

I note you are not denying your troll status. I hope McCain pays you well.

@odog11

I took a gander at your other letters. You, sir, are a troll, and a prolific one at that.

I can see why you'd object to this subscriber's concerns. You poison the well and say some might like the poison.

@Debaser

Not only that, but the trolls have done much to destroy the integrity of this website...one that has very rapidly gone from required reading to freakshow rubbernecking.

I agree and I can't understand why ever Salon should just stand by and let it happen. It's like those McCain "points" bloggers/trolls (or/and Operation Chaos) have descended on site like flies on carcass. It has really soured the experience for me.

It's kind of like Myspace - Myspace started losing members by the boatload once it got hacked to shit and fake profiles started sending messages hither and yon...in short it's a legitimacy issue...these fake posters are in a very real sense eating away at salon's legitimacy...with shocking speed.

Absolutely. Sometimes I feel if I have to check that I'm not at RedState or LGF. My subscription doesn't run out for quite some time yet, but if I had to renew now, I wouldn't. Salon needs to exert some kind of control of its letter section.

maybe open salon will save it, but it the jury is still out.

I haven't gone to open salon. My disgust at what has become of here doesn't make me want MORE Salon.

PUMAs or Limbaugh Operatives?

I don't know why Salon allows republican/Limbaugh trolls parading as PUMAs to roam its letters section. If there were really so many of these stereotypically bitter biddies/buddies, Clinton wouldn't still have such a debt. It's like a nasty parody.

All I can say is that we desperately need a "report poster" type button. People like sonofloud and Notorious WES and AKA Smith aren't constructive, aren't making good points and certainly aren't making Clinton supporters look rational. All they are doing is raising the unpleasantry level.

Maybe the letters section should be suspended for awhile until the professional trolls get tired and go back to their natural habitats.

Sheesh!

These Hillary dead-enders are getting quite tiresome. Hillary didn't win, so they are going to make everyone miserable. Waah, waah, waah, my p*ssy hurts! Everything sucks! We're going to rain on your parade 24/7 until we get what we want! Waah!

Sheesh. We heard you the first million times.

If some of them are republicans, they must not have much to do with their lives than other than posing as ultra-whiny super bitter Hillary fans. They certainly have sucked some of the enjoyment out visiting Salon.

If they're not on McCain's payroll, they should be.

I'm a 37 year old woman looking forward to voting for Obama and the rest of the democrats down the ballot. I'm a democrat. Hillary is a democrat and will vote democrat. Hmm. Imagine that.

Creating Buzz and Emphasizing the Positive

I think Michelle Obama speaking will bring more general interest, to be honest. Would the general public be more interested in a speech by Sebelius or McCaskill? Be honest. Mrs. Obama will also create more buzz in the media.

By giving her featured spot, it shows the respect and confidence her husband has in her abilities. Shows he respects strong women. It also suggests that Michelle will be more in the mold of Hillary than just a First Lady, like Laura Bush. We Democrats seem to like a strong help mate. Her appearance will also remind folks that she comes from more of the traditional Black American experience.

It may be risky, but if it pays off, a very good risk. Michelle will remind people of traits Barack wants to emphasize.

Clinton is not the nominee

This is an affront to all female steelworkers! ARG!

/sarcasm

It's ridiculous, all this purported outrage of betrayal against the pre-ordained nominee (that is, before actual voting commenced). Obama is our nominee and fine one, too.

Maybe it's lobbyists that are all these Hillary dead enders? Hmm.

Woman over-identifying with Clinton

I am a woman in my late 30's. Until recently, I liked Hillary. Though I'll admit I preferred Obama.

I have seen some, but not a lot of sexism directed toward her. But it has been at the hands of the media. That 60 Minutes interview by Katie Couric was dreadful. I felt sorry for Hillary.

However, saying things like, "She's being told to sit down" and implying it's sexism just doesn't wash. Calls for her to drop out are not about her being a woman, but because she's not going to win the nomination.

As for voting for McCain, that's like cutting off your nose in spite of your face. McCain cheated on his first wife while she had cancer and has called his second wife a "c*nt* in public. Not to mention who he'll appoint to the Supreme Court. He voted against the equal pay for women. How can you seriously entertain the notion that McCain is somehow preferable?

That is taking bitterness way too far.

Day-um

She disappoints me yet again with her shenanigans. I genuinely liked her, but the last couple of months have really turned me off.

When even Rassmussen writes you off, it's time to comport yourself with grace and go gently into the night. I'm not saying she should quit now, but this is not the seemly or helpful way to go.
