Wonder why, since this double standard is obviously a racist color judgment disguised as touchy feely Media-American double talk, that presumes self segregation over skin color differences is only racist for white people. I don't know any other Libertarian advocating either color judgment dependent self segregation or the racial discrimination inherent in its practice. You're the first. What a silly book premise...as though one could validate the imposed morality of governments without some sort of moral authority. Obama could have married lighter or darker, having the same choices as Tancredo, but he chose the dark side, while Tancredo chose the light side; so either point your innuendos of latent racism at both, or none.

Perhaps the article should have started by actually defining human identity...it is immutable and individual, no exceptions; every single person has a set of personal characteristics, distinctly different from every other human being, a difference that is due to unique physical characteristics and unique experiences, internalized by uniquely individual thought processes.

From one's own mental concepts mirroring existing individual identities, one can mentally abstract and categorize similarities both physical and intellectual; for example the similarities in skin color, value choices and actions described in this article can be categorized as "whites," blacks," biracials," etc., but that's not "identity;" nor does it describe any individual; these are MENTAL concepts of similarities. These arbitrarily formed and entirely subjective categorical concepts of human similarities absolutely and irrefutably cannot replace, nor coexist, with individual identity. And if one thinks that they do, that human identity actually wavers back and forth between unique individual and categorical similarity, sometimes walking about the earth within that monolithic similarity known as "racial identity" and sometimes existing as "individuals," depending on one's rhetorical context, then one has mentally obscured human individuality with a stereotype. And what is racism, but exactly that.

The concept of racial identity is an error in human identity, and once that error invades the mind, it is applied to all people, _including self_. I see all those "deeply religious" Goths shootin' up their schools almost every day now. Meanwhile, what is taught in all schools and colleges but the anti-intellectual leftist hypocrisy which presumes that the "inclusion" of all colors, genders, cultures, ethnicity and nationality, hypocritically coupled to the "exclusion" of white American men, is so much more important than whether or not anyone is making any sense at all.

Not to mention the leftist screed which demands excellence must kowtow to both intellectual and economic mediocrity in the holy name of "equality." Leftist "educators" tell minorities, women and the poor they can't succeed at anything unless white men and/or the rich allow and help them to do so; they tell white men and the rich they mustn't succeed, because it's "not their turn." What do you think these ideas are teaching children except to presume that both self value and social value depends, not upon intellectual accomplishment and economic enterprise, but upon one's completely irrelevant but politically correct physical APPEARANCE coupled to the equally irrelevant economic status of a child's PARENTS.

No wonder American kids have cut themselves off from education...there's nothing there to encourage any kind of personal or socially valuable accomplishment, which just happens to be the only incentive to learn anything.

Wait, this pseudo-religious, leftist, self sacrifice coupled to the worship of and the tax funded, enforced enrichment of the lowest common denominator, does teach children ONE accomplishment...it encourages them to think that their best chance of success is found in severely disadvantaging others, especially through the voting booth.
