I was listening to the radio several nights ago, and someone thought there weren't really political Parties arguing with each other, but rather political "Leagues" playing with each other.
So, whoever wins the next game, or next issue, doesn't really matter so much as whatever is important to the politician at this moment.
let's play ball, or politics...

I would like to see Bill O'Reilly's take on this issue.
He loves to talk!
And to continue Debating / exposing this can only help...
Any ideas on how to draw him in?

I have a feeling, as some others here seem to have expressed, that this interview was an important step in the right direction.
A real discussion with someone perceived as "part of the problem" with the Media, with the country, with Washington etc...
thanks Chuck, Glenn...

a little Off Topic, depending on what is discussed, but I noticed Bob Woodward is scheduled for the Charlie Rose show tonight...

Some old McNamara interviews were on TV last night, and he was "somewhat" remorseful about Vietnam in 1995 & 2003, but still trying to explain away, or make excuses for an unnecessary war.
This is nothing new, but I can see the similarities in Afghanistan, and Iraq - or at least the human mistakes, in the running of these wars. We get stubborn with our beliefs. One wonders - is there any solution? We have to speak out of course, or at least try. "Memories are short" seems to apply here.
I'm for pulling back, or pulling most of our troops out of both of these wars. How can it be much worse? We currently seem to be making an Afghanistan Quagmire...

Glen Greenwald said:
"My guess is that Webb, having succeeded in numerous other endeavors outside of politics, is not desperate to cling to his political office, and he has thus calculated that he'd rather have six years in the Senate doing things he thinks are meaningful than stay there forever on the condition that he cowardly renounce any actual beliefs. It's probably true that most career politicians, possessed of few other talents or interests, are highly unlikely to think that way."
this seems like a reasonable guess,
to what may be going on with Webb, and many in Congress

I heard on TV news this morning:
"Bonuses are needed to attract skilled people"
[or something similar]
so,
without bonuses we get - unskilled help?

being a Democrat at heart,
i probably start out by giving the benefit of the doubt to anything Democrats say, and many times just go along
i wonder if the same can be said for Republicans?

Yes, nobody is perfect...but we can do better - as a country, as a government (Federal), as a people. Without pointing fingers here I just wanted express frustration. Aren't we better than what we are experiencing today? The division is frustrating...
