The most appropriate analogy would be to Vogons--"the worst marksmen in the Galaxy".
That explains everything, Democritus.
Exterminationists in glass McMansions shouldn't throw stones.
Unless said stone throwing is directed at their mirrors.
Shorter typical shooter242 comment:
Sieg Heil!
The Republican candidates were not asked the question about Habeas Corpus?
Mr. Matthews did not think "they should hear about torture and denial of habeas corpus? It's not relevant. So why should they waste their beautiful minds on something like that?"
scooter177 isn't ever going to face up to his own years of poor advice/invective on the innertubes, any more than his heroes are.
They are discredited, and their words mean nothing.
Hi Glenn,
What do you think we (and by that I mean Americans who want to stop Bush's war, and his devastation of our Constitution) should do?
There are a large number of people who are so angry (and I don't say we are wrong to feel that way), they are ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
But that only helps Bush, Cheney, and Rove, imho.
I think we ought to knock the bad Democrats where we can, support good ones whenever possible, and never give up the ship.
Because giving up is what Karl wants, along with the fascists among us (see shooter242).
That was my own question.
Eric Massa and John Laesch both appeared on Firedoglake today. I contributed what I could to each of them, and to ActBlue (and to Victoria Wulsin, running against Jean Schmidt in OH-2).
“In this place where valor sleeps, we are reminded why America has always gone to war reluctantly, because we know the costs of war.” That’s what President Bush said last year, in a Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
Those were fine words, spoken by a man with less right to say them than any president in our nation’s history. For Mr. Bush took us to war not with reluctance, but with unseemly eagerness.
Do the same thing over and over, and expect a different result? Are we really going to let these madmen lie us into another war in the Middle East?

Answer: No.
P.S. Mr. Greenwald, you are trespassing on Sadly, No!'s territory when you mock the Ace o' Spades.

Q.E.D.
Just to be clear, the claim about its being published in the Federal Register was something he quoted from an anonymouse White House official.
Glenn, isn't that Dan Bartlett's real name? Or maybe it's a "senior administration offical, speaking on the condition of anonymity":
http://wonkette.com/politics/but-one-liar-to-lose-for-my-country-dept/single-resignation-decimates-press-corps-source-pool-265159.php
(Above link is to a picture of Dan Bartlett sitting next to Tony Snowjob on a helicopter in Iraq. Which brings up another question, as a 36 year old with combat experience in Iraq, shouldn't he be leaving the White House to spend more time with his war?)
P.S. Your post has earned Mike Allen the coveted "Wanker of the Day" at Atrios. Fine job, Glenn!
That is why Atrios has a Wanker of the Day award. And Mike Allen earned it, today.
P.S. As for the shooter, he's really just mailing it in these days. Maybe he's finally given up on his "cause". Couldn't happen to a nicer fellow.
Hi Libertarian at Large,
1) That = that wretched article Mike Allen wrote, which Glenn dissected in great detail. Really, I was just pointing out the fact that Atrios linked to Glenn's post, and proclaimed Mike Allen "Wanker of the Day" (well deserved, imho).
Wanker of the Day
Mike Allen.

2) As for shooter 'mailing in it', I found the comments shooter made on this thread laughable. In fact, they mock themselves. This is in contrast to back before Glenn had the Salon gig, when if I recall correctly, shooter put more of an effort into making a pest of himself. Hence, "now he's just mailing it in".
3) So, what does any of this have to do with your post(s)? Nothing, I think I meant to respond to someone responding to shooter. (Perhaps Paul Dirks at 1:25, rather than your post at 1:32.) Please pardon me for any confusion, consternation, or aggravation I might have caused you, it was not intentional.
Don't talk about AIPAC club.
Damn Glenn, you're just begging to be condemned as one of those Anti-Sammiches I hear so much about.
I just saw Tim Noah's take.
Blech. Maybe he should just go work for Marty Peretz and get it over with.
Does somebody pay you to post your tripe?
Amazing, isn't it? That's why I stressed that she's the National Political Reporter for the Washington Post. She's filled with snotty cynicism and the sort of faux superiority complex that makes them all think that they're far above actually taking any of it seriously.

It's either act like MoDo, whore for the Republicans, or don't get paid by the likes of Donald Graham.
According to the NYT's Sheryl Gay Stolberg, they are afraid . . . because of the criticisms that have been directed at them from "liberal bloggers".
That's Wanker Of The Day, of course.
Not to mention, this might interfere with quail dinner invitations to Karl Rove's house.
Klein also warned that if Democrats continued to object to illegal eavesdropping, "they will probably not regain the majority in Congress or the country," because "liberal Democrats are . . . far from the American mainstream" on this issue. The hallmark of Beltway Seriousness is the inability to do anything other than spout authority-worshipping conventional wisdom...
Another hallmark of Beltway Seriousness is to project your very serious opinion onto the American mainstream, regardless of evidence that is untrue. For instance, 'most Americans don't want Scooter to go to jail'.
Or referring to the 70% of us who want out of Iraq as 'the Anti-war left', etc.
