Joan, Joan, Joan...

Being the smart, intelligent woman that you are, how in the world can you publish an article and try to convince me that you were surprised. Surprised that, while you quasi-argued (there is no debating) with a right-wing-religious-nut-case the subject of "...teaching the values of the Christian right [in schools]" would not come up. Come On!! Only a Christian oriented theocracy ruling this great country will ever satisfy the Terry Jefferys of the world. And it is your responsibility as a journalist to point out these nut-balls and show the America whose military I served that yes there is freedom of religion ALONG WITH freedom from religion.

Once you define what an AK is..

The infamous AK47 is a sterling example of the definition of an "assault" weapon. A weapon that, when used in en mass, can send thousands of rounds of ammunition towards an enemy. Either causing casualties or forcing a defender to take cover. It is here that accuracy of fire is not as desirable as quantity of fire. And so too the quality of the weapon need not be so high when its main function is to primarily send bullets down range.

Curtains for John The Moderate...

It looks as if McCain is on a fool's errand in trying to reshape the republican party. The radical wing-nuts have firm control as of now and thankfully their version of leaderless mob is just that, leaderless. Yes he has some clout left to help reshape the edges but the core substance of the party requires more than he can muster. Right now the zealous repubs are still in the purification mode, weeding out the RINO's and those that aren't "true believers". Maybe because of McCain's persona and history or that they haven't gotten to it yet that he still hangs around, but the party purgers will in the future have to send John The Moderate packing. The only thing left is whether it is a retirement ceremony or a walking of the plank.

That's rich!

Kremlinology...nice. Kinda reminds me of listening to North Korean shortwave, with their "capitalist running dogs" junk, always a knee slapper!

And by the way, Palin's support group doesn't employ "ghost writers", everyone knows she uses flying monkeys.

What else is there to say...

The bloated druggie is just stating the obvious, by his own acerbic rantings, he gets higher ratings from his zombie listeners, his station masters gain more ad revenue with which they command higher prices and yes he earns much more money.

But the fat bas**rd's false humility betrays him.

His is the archetypal path that a lowly seminary student can follow to go from preacher to televangelist superstar, where the fame, fans, money and POWER flow like milk and honey. And that power is based on the flocks admiration and blind allegiance to the one that feeds their need for spirituality, or in the case of Radio Druggie, the need to release their deeply rooted hatred.

It is that ability to whip up the his followers into an active frenzy that strikes fear in the hearts of republican leaders and lawmakers. In rushputin they found their mystical conservative icon with which to align themselves. But like the master that suddenly becomes the student to his apprentice, they find that the real power comes from he who can actually control the zombies.

This ought to be good!

Since ideological purity is the only requirement for Floridian election:

Mr. Crist, are you now or have you ever been a moderate Republican or a politician affiliated with any moderate Republican organization that seeks to dilute our Conservative agenda ordained by God?

Mr. Crist, why do you hate America???

As was posted before...

The PRIMARY reason that alcohol is legal and marijuana illegal is MONEY. Alcohol makes money, not only for its producers but also its distributors and sellers. But not to be left out are the federal, state and local governments that make a whopping amount of cash by taxing liquor, wine and beer with every move it makes. And therein is control. Our fearless leaders can manipulate us citizens by the tightening or loosening of how alcohol is sold. Don't forget that there are still towns, counties and parishes that allow NO alcohol because their laws are based on some kind of biblical restriction or something.

Myself, I gave up tobacco smoking and I never want to take up any form of smoking again, but what folks smoke in their own homes doesn't concern me in the least.

Amazing isn't it

People continue to refer to the courts as a "justice system". It should be called what it truly is: A Criminal Legal System, a system where guilt or something less than guilt is determined by elected official and those ensnared in its tendrils will forever carry a scarlet letter of criminal.

Disingenuous Beck

The author's premise in writing this article was to try and gauge whether Beck's rants affected white nationalists in some way. While it was thin on evidence, his basic claim was correct, but barely. If given the venue I am sure that anyone could discover many examples of racist tendencies in every strata of American society. Now, how someone could do a valid statistical poll, where the participants would provide honest opinions is probably impossible. But like alot of other right winger big mouths, Beck is fueling a fire and making money from it. If he really truly believed, in his heart of hearts, the crap spews out then he probably would be running a white supremacist web site of his own.

What's the chirping sound?

Its crickets! What a load of poo Salon! If the author is that impressed by the "folksy" (ghostwritten) tripe of Palin's, then your site should look for deeper intellect in book reviewers. Your author baits the reader with the idea that through some sight beyond sight she discovered a gem of literature that both critics and sycophants missed. Moose chili, hummus, turkey, halibut, stop already! I personally don't care what the diet in Alaska is or for that matter in California. As punishment, you should have the author reread Palin's book and this time find something substantial.
