  • What is the problem folks...

[Read the article: Sandbagged at Saddleback]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

How can an enlightened public even begin to believe the word of an evangelical preacher? How can a population who knows that the earth revolves around the sun, contrary to biblical scripture, fall inline with a lowly mortal who's sole ambition is to gain popular and monetary gain through a televised faith-a-thon? Have we Americans devolved to the point that we will listen to a preacher for answers to questions involving the fate of the world? God help us if we do!

  • Lost without his lists

[Read the article: McCain looks lost on "Meet the Press"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

While not seeing the Meet the Press interview, I saw something nearly as depressing on CNN. McCain's interview with Blitzer was like watching a crappy dvd rental for the umpteenth time. All that Johnny boy could do was recite his litany of lists, checking off the tired names and talking points on his fingers as if he was doing a third grade math question. He did this while the whole time keeping that ridiculous grin on his pasty face. As noted before this is not the McCain of 2000. I don't know who that man on TV was, but I think he needs to go back home and sit in his rocker in front of the fireplace and take his nap.

  • In her favor...

[Read the article: Deep thoughts from Sarah Palin]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I think that her answer was the first correct answer to a question posed to her since she foundered upon the scene. Why with a lot of hard work she might be able to speak in complete, coherent sentences. Isn't that super!! Her future looks bright.

  • His new chairmanship

[Read the article: Report: Reid, Lieberman to meet]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Mr. Lieberman you are now the senior chairman of the wastebasket committee. Your duties will include emptying the House trash cans and wastebaskets and ensuring that each urinal has one of those nifty blue cakes in them. Considering how loyal you have been to the Democratic party and your constituents over the past year we will issue you a new broom.

  • More of the same incoherent drivel...

[Read the article: Palin holds a press conference -- no, seriously]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It may be hard to believe, but this woman actually makes bush-speak sound articulate. That aside, you have to give her some credit about campaigning, once she latches on to a buzz phrase she doesn't quickly forget it. The rnc must have the pitbull whisperer around for training.

  • Not too shabby...

[Read the article: How the hell did Rick Warren get inauguration tickets?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is a shrewd move on Obama's part. Warren is a huckster, like all the tv evangels', but in this case, more of the moderate religious types will accept his lukewarm ideology and look at Obama's invitation as a sign of moving in their direction.

So now that warren will be in the most national of spotlights, he will have to show that he isn't among the more radical christo-fascists that make up most of the republican party. If he does attempt to portray in his words, the idea of "America is a christian nation", then Obama and followers will have a field day of showing the world that despite all the talk of compassion, love, etc.,in their religion, they would rather have divide than unite the nation.

Never trust anyone that talks for a living, especially if they only work on Sunday.

  • Something not mentioned...

[Read the article: The Republican comeback]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The Dems won big in 2008. But what is fascinating is that they won in many areas that were methodically and deliberately redistricted into hardcore Repub enclaves. No doubt some of the concentrations will be broken up by Dem redistricting, so the idea that a strong Repub comeback from watered down districts seems kinda slim.

  • Weak...

[Read the article: Melissa Etheridge meets Rick Warren]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The analogy given in the blog is just fluff from someone impressed by a charismatic person deftly camouflaging his real beliefs which are already public record. Warren falls back on that "misquoted, out of context" crap that all public figures whip out when confronted with their own words. He should thank his lucky stars that God has pretty much stopped striking people dead for lying.

  • Evolve? Maybe Revolve?

[Read the article: Is the Web helping us evolve?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Another increase in communication. Another ease in communication. Maybe a mass sharing of knowledge. Of talk. Of experience. Of wisdom. Definitely a sharing of ignorance. It is all there and it is up to the individual to sort it out. There will always be geniuses and fools, the trick is to determine which of these you want to be. The internet IS making us smarter and making us stupider at the same time. It is the same change that has occurred throughout history. Only a hellava lot quicker!

  • Senseless....

[Read the article: Palin now attacking her defenders]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

palinism is just a downward spiral into less than mediocrity. It must be the proximity to the magnetic north pole that has such an affect on those people of strong ambition and weak mind. Kinda like bush and his alcohol/retardation history.

  • First things first...

[Read the article: Obama takes first actions in office ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

President Obama's first ceremonial act in office should be the awarding of the presidential medal of freedom to US Airways pilot, "Sully" Sullenberger. The award should be in recognition for not only saving the lives of one hundred fifty passengers and crew, but for also having his story of competence and courage COMPLETELY overshadow the last prime time speech of the previous occupant of the White House. What a fitting end to the worst presidency in American history!

  • The book's title...

[Read the article: Palin to ink book deal]

"I Wish I Was Tina Fey: The Sarah Palin Story"

  • - Dogvane

[Read the article: Gingrich: Obama needs to be more bipartisan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'll take your challenge. newt told his wife in the hospital that he was divorcing her. Of course, having a captive audience made it an easy one for him. After that pretty much everything else that oozed from his gob is suspect.

  • Ain't it something...

[Read the article: Cheney reportedly "furious" with Bush over Libby]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Maybe all that butt kissing on his hand and knees to get his convicted "little buddy" off the hook is what put him in that wheelchair. You know the chimper enjoyed every second of vader's grovelling. And in the end, ole' chimp could care less about scooter or anyone else for that matter. He got away with pretty much everything and still won't admit he was wrong.
