Bernard & Doris: Great acting, yet ultimately unsatisfying

Especially after that great interview with Sarandon in Salon last week, spouse and I eagerly awaited, and were both disappointed by the film. Given what we've read about the end of Duke's life, the soft acceptance of Lafferty's choices left us wondering what the point of the story was. It felt like quite a bit of foreplay, with no release.
