I have no problem with the unions EXCEPT

When I was doing the auto mechanic gig, I was required to join

a union if the shop where I was working had a union. All the new car dealers in Mpls/St. Paul had either a Machinists &Mechanics or Teamsters Union. I went to a union meeting one night. At that time, there were over 150 members. There were about 20 members at this meeting. Being a good union member, I raised my hand to ask a question about some minor financial matter. I was ignored. After the meeting, my shop steward pulled me aside and told me I was not supposed to ask questions, especially financial questions

Everybody knows what the Teamsters union was when Jimmy Hoffa

ran things. There's a rumor out there that Hoffa was offed, not

by the Mafia, but by members of his own union.

It's not that I'm anti-union, I'm just anti-corruption.

What's a reality TV show??

I'm very proud to say that I have NOT watched one segment of ANY reality TV show, nor one segment of any cooking show. Quite

frankly, if the only options were a reality or cooking show or

Gilligan's Island re-runs, I'd watch Gilligan.

I don't shop

I don't go shopping. Not in the normal sense at least. If I'm

looking for a particular item, my first stop is a pawn shop. If

it's clothing, I go to Goodwill or a church-run thrift store.

I bought a 20" flat screen Sylvania TV. I traded in a 13" older

TV. Cash outlay $60.00. I even buy my groceries at a locally

owned grocery store. (Minnesota)

Yet another opinion

Re: American v Import cars.

Having spent 40+ yrs as an automobile mechanic, working on both

foreign and domestic cars, I can testify to the superior quality of the imports. The last american built car I owned was

a 1965 Dodge Monaco with a 440 ci V8. It would pass anything on the highway except a gas station.

Re: The tanked TV shows. I'm proud to say that I have not seen

one of the shows mentioned. The last ABC show I watched was "Commander in Chief." CiC only lasted one season. It was pulled due to political pressure exerted on ABC by the current

administration. ABC, which is owned by Walt Disney. Need I say more?

Original article: Is Obama president yet?

One line

One line caught my eye in the article. "Bush should just quit"

Problem with that is, Obama could not "just take over"

Dick Cheney would take over and his first official act would be

to suspend the Constitution.

Original article: Is Detroit worth saving?

IS DETROIT WORTH SAVING-NOT ONLY NO, BUT HELL NO!!!

The ceos of the big three auto makers could "bail-out" their

respective companies by simply taking a 50% pay cut and foregoing their bonuses. I don't hear Toyota, Nissan, Honda or

any of the other foreign auto makers asking their respective governments for any kind of bail-out.

An alternative that may just be possible

Obama instructs his new Attorney General to issue arrest warrants for George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and all those who did their bidding.

Unfortunatly Dick Cheney will not vacate the Naval Observatory

and hires Blackwater to defend him. In a deadly shoot-out with

the 82nd Airborn, Cheney is finally arrested.

Gitmo is re-opened and all of the defendants are taken there to

be guarded by radical Muslims.

This is 2008

I don't have much faith in the poll, for what I feel is a valid

reason. Most if not all the younger voters don't have land line

telephones and the pollsters don't, for the most part, call cell phones.

Looks to me like:

The Repugs campaign is self destructing from within. Couldn't

happen to a better bunch of losers

On Paul Wellstone

It's fairly common knowledge in Minnesota that Wellstone's plane was sabotaged, by person or persons unknown. The pilot

of the plane was an experienced bush pilot who had flown in Alaska. Would have been relatively simple to tamper with the

deicers

Maybe Canada?

Don't know about Scandinavia, but Canada is looking better and

better, plus I have some friends in the Detroit area that will

put me up til I can escape to Windsor.

Original article: Say it ain't so, Joe!

Joe sold out

I'm convinced that Joe Lieberman has sold out. If McCain wins,

which appears very unlikely at this point. Look for Lieberman to be appointed to some high level cabinete post.

Obama: several, McCain: minus several

I watched the debate last night. The most important thing I noted was that several time when Obama was making a point, McCain would talk over Obama. I was on the debate team while in

high school. If such a thing happened in a debate, that person

would be immediately disqualified.

I WONDER WHERE

I wonder where that 700 billion dollars is going to really go?

I'll bet the lines between Wall Street and off-shore bank accounts are overloaded. Personally, I'd like to see Congress

say not only NO but HELL NO!!

Original article: Palin watch

FINALLY

Just saw on ABC news the Sarahcuda will grant an interview with

some talking head on ABC. Will he or she ask tough questions?

Probably not. Would like to see Keith Olberman ask her some questions

Thursday, August 28, 2008 09:16 AM

I Hope and pray I'm wrong

A couple things that can ruin Obama's election. 1. Bush and his

puppeteers, AKA the Military/Industrial Complex. will stage a

9-11 type disaster, suspend the Constitution, cancel the election "in the interest of Natl security" or some nut case

red neck will assassinate Obama.

Original article: Johnny, I hardly knew ye

Who among us??

To be sure John Edwards screwed up. (pun intended) I'll bet there are less than 50% of the adult males out there who have

not done the same thing whether cheating on a wife OR significant other.

BTW: the current Republican nominee had an affair while his wife was recovering from an auto accident. Didn't Newt Gingrich

divorce his wife while she was in hospital being treated for

cancer?

At least Edwards and Gingrich had the good sense to keep their

wandering hetro-sexual, while Larry Craig was busted in an air-

port men's room

Original article: John McCain, Internet dunce

I'm not surprised

Why am I not surprised that McCain is internet illiterate. He's

80+ yrs old, more than likely has alzheimers, and was NEVER the

sharpest knife in the drawer.
