freedom of religion

freedom of religion is about personal spiritual belief. I choose to personally believe that those beliefs are backward, but i don't kill children with that belief. There should be no slack given to people like this. believe what you want but if your kid is sick, take him to a fucking doctor. your prayers don't translate. the sooner we abolish fanatical religion, the sooner we can start developing a healthy society.

ummm...its a bad joke

ok, so this shirt is obviously made as a joke, to mock people of a certain mindset. its in bad taste, on that i i agree. but, it is clearly not actually a pro date rape shirt.

rediculous

i can not believe that this is getting any attention at all. The man is running around the country like a crazy person trying to do something very needed, and we are picking apart his every word. should he answer every questoin every person shouts at him from the sidelines?

Original article: Feminism is the new funny

not that funny

Personally, I'm glad to see that there are strong female role models that are funny for girls to look up to. I think that these two are doing great things in that they are deconstructing stereotypes. However, unfortunately, neither of these two women are very funny. weekend update hasnt been funny in forevertime, and this movie looks totally lame. As a man who considers himself a feminist, I find myself giving them a certain amount of leniency because I like what they represent. The fact is though, besides the occasional decent oneliner, both of these women seem forced and stiff in their comic delivery. why is it that i have to find myelf say, "well thats not funny but thanks for trying"? not funny is just not funny.

Original article: The music lover

then why are you still talking?

If its so dead and used up, stop listening and more importantly writing about it. But whatever you are listening to, try actually listening to it instead of evaluating it as a genre and making judgments on that genres current avant-gard status. By that logic, the classical music you mentioned is so used up it should officially be banned as a medium. if you were to actually listen instead of trying to find broad general statements to make about the genre, you would probably have more fun listening to music.

Nothing is new. period. so get over it and just listen.

Im not even a huge destroyer fan, I do love the New Pornagraphers though, but i just can't get over how silly your argument is.

my worst fears

I have a fear, and I have heard it from several others, that hillary clinton cannot win angainst John mcain. she is far too polarizing and a total phony. people either love or hate her. I have a fear that if it were to come down to her vs. mcain, anyone who is on the fence would tip towards him. maybe because he is the familiar (old white guy) or not but im terrified of that outcome.

Original article: Miss dumb blond USA?

good posting

thank you! thats great that you wrote that. why is it that laughing at her implies that we are perpetuating some stereotype. I'm sorry your state is being so poorly represented in the all important world of teen pageantry. Im glad you can laugh at her too.

Original article: Miss dumb blond USA?

don't have Maps?

OK so I agree that most people probably have something better to do that watch and comment on viral videos but I think this article is just silly. the video is hilarious. She gives a response that is so far beyond "dumb, blond, southern and female" that it hurts. it is incoherent and completely nonsensical. these things are funny. no matter who does it...but yes, the fact that she is pretty and blond and from the south doesn't hurt.

why should we feel bad for laughing at this girl. she is taking part in one of our most foolish traditions and she surpasses our expectations by appearing far more retarded than we could even expect. we are still laughing at the president for his numerous idiotic speech gaffes. all political correctness aside, it is fun to laugh at people's mistakes...and yes, we all make them, but some are worse than others.

why can' most Americans find their own country on a map? because they are mostly educated as well as or worse than she was. she is a fool and she is a very real representation of the sad state of our education system. its not our fault for laughing.

blockbuster?

I agree with rufus. the question is not just how many titles and what small perks are offered. It is a question of what types of companies a person wants to support. I have read about Blockbuster's censorship policies as well and while I assume online they have a broader selection, in their stores it is clear that they make it a point to only provide movies, for the most part, that are mainstream and "family friendly". I have yet to have any issues with netflix and know that if i did I could talk to a human directly to deal with it. for me these are the reasons I would never consider making a switch. I think part of the fun is the waiting for the next movie. thats the point. otherwise why not just find a good movie store and rent. Blockbuster is the wallmart of movie rental. lets not let them push out the online competion as well.
