Original article: Isn't she lovely?

Maybe just maybe...

Watching this speech all I could think about was the possible millions of people across the country thinking themselves that maybe just maybe Michelle and Barak aren't lying to us. Maybe just maybe they really are genuine. Maybe just maybe we should give them a chance and let them have their best attempt at bringing America back to what it was. We know what America is supposed to look like and maybe just maybe Barak and Michelle can bring it home.

I believe in these people. Not since discovering Bob Dylan have I ever believed in a public figure but I believe in the Obamas.

And for the first time ever I think I admire a beautiful woman purely as a role-model and not a sex symbol. (I know that's terrible but I feel I had to say it.)

Chris Matthews (ironically) said it best...

"There was no defeat in that speech" he said and its the truth. It wasn't a concession speech but a "get on board the water is still pretty damn nice." I am an Obama supporter and had I'd seen this Hillary in January and February it would have taken me a lot longer than 30 seconds to change my mind as I did this winter.

Its funny Obama needs to harden up and she needs to soften up. They both have the ideas and the passion they just need some tweaking.

That being said I am still 100% glad Obama won and I think he will ultimately be the president that we all think and know he can be.

Original article: "No way, no how, no McCain"

@ Lou

Totally agree. Had we seen this Hillary in Jan. and Feb. it would have taken some of us Obama supporters longer than 30 seconds to make up our minds.

I'm more emphatically for Obama than you, I think he's amazing (although recognize why some people worry or even may not like him). But in all seriousness, I think if this Hillary had appeared months ago the tables would have been flipped.

SHe was too hard and cold. And now he's too warm and fuzzy. I think anyway you look at it they both need each other.

Best line...

"Yes he can, but we gotta elect him first!"

I'm not usually one to do this.....

Original article: Sarah Palin's choice

@peeps11

I know this post was very early but I just have to comment. Thank you! Pro-choicers can be pro-life too. Most people at heart, when it comes to terminating a pregnancy probably cant bear to do so. However, it is imperative that those that do are given the havens needed. You don't need to be pro-choice to support roe v wade you just need to have empathy for your fellow (wo)man.

Yes We Can!

We will win. I've never been patriotic before in my entire life and I believe in Obama and the fact that he will crush McCain in the debates.

However, he needs to re-inject the excitement back into the campaign. He looks weak because he adapts to criticism. Republicans just say "F-it" and go on blathering ignorantly. Unfortunately the latter is effective.

All I have to say is that is if Obama loses then I officially will never be able to look another republican in the eye again without wanting to beat them senseless with a baseball bat.

Terrified

Why aren't more people paying attention?!?!?!?! Is it slipping away AGAIN?!?!?!?

P.S. America's government is a system of checks and balances, if the people pick incorrectly again, is there any likelihood that the electoral college votes against McCain anyway? And what would the implications be?

Original article: A call to arms

What if he doesn't win?

What will happen? Rage? Collapse? Rebellion? I've honestly considered it. I am damn angry and am watching a legitimate candidate possibly get beat by some old crank who has no clue what he's talking about.

Is there any possibility that the checks and balances of our great nation reject the people's choice if we choose incorrectly?

Water?

I'll drink water for now. However, if the unthinkable happens I'm switching to Jack Daniel's. For four years, nothing but Jack Daniel's...

@andrewbacon!

Hilarious!!! But we should also note Karl Rove was given a subpoena for congress that he didn't show up to and no one seems to give a good goddam about that either. I am sick and tired of turning on the TV everyday and see people acting above the law again and again and again. Its bullshit! And wouldn't you know it, its always F'ing Republicans! They are crooks, liars and thugs and Palin is their centerfold!

Fuck these people! I want my country back!

Chuck!

For all of his flaws I try to read every word he writes. He may not always be good but he will always be interesting.

You never know what side of an argument he will take. If you think he'll like it, he'll hate it. If you think he'll hate it only to spite your prediction of him liking it he'll spite your prediction and love it.

I have two friends just like him and they are maddening but I never miss an opportunity to hang out.

Oh hell no!

These are the times that make presidents. Debate motherfucker! Give us answers! Both of you!

Wednesday, September 24, 2008 09:42 PM

I might be losing it...

If this works and people get duped by this I am going to flip my lid. The debate finally got back to issues and now he's doing this.

I am at a loss.

Someone might need to talk me down if this ends up being effective.
