Doesn't that just make you misty? The wondrous sentimentality of it all...
Apparently he's dropped out of school. Not even a high school diploma for this dude. After all, an education would just make him one of those durned elitists.
Must admire Palin's ability...I didn't even see her lips move when he was speaking!
Anyone know where I can join an Obama Voters On Pins and Needles support group until the election? I'm losing it.
Three weeks is a freaking eternity with this electorate. Do I have absolute faith that Obama is the better candidate? Of course. Do I have absolute faith that the American people can continue to recognize that? HELL no. As a nation, we are hopelessly ADD...we can change our minds four times before breakfast and forget why we even cared by lunch.
Watching Sarah Palin last night repeatedly, repeatedly deny reality and claim that she was completely exonerated in the Troopergate report was utterly chilling.
She's a sociopath. It's the OJ Simpson theory of revisionist history--if you just keep saying you didn't do it over and over and over, it will make it so.
McCain alarms me. Palin TERRIFIES me.
What a chance for Obama to address it honestly and forthrightly, and then point out that addressing 35 year-old events is hardly relevant at a time when most Americans are scared sh*tless about their homes, their paychecks and their futures.
Every time McCain goes there, it costs him. Let him go there!!!
but those characteristics aren't exactly unknown in successful politicians.
What's infinitely more alarming is that she is willing to repeatedly and enthusiastically (I believe I may be cribbing Rachel Maddow with those adverbs) lie about the conclusions of the Troopergate report, all the while smiling cheerfully and showing absolutely no physical indications that she is aware that she is lying.
She's either dangerously delusional or an out and out sociopath.
I've said this before, but it bears repeating...McCain alarms me. Palin terrifies me.
I hear this "he tasered a ten year old child" thing a lot from Palinites, but I have never seen it backed up with anything concrete, like a police report, a doctor's report, an investigation by CPS, statements from witnesses...
If in fact this happened, it's no longer political, it's no longer he said/she said in an ugly divorce, it's child abuse and the cops should have been called. Yet nothing is ever offered as proof.
The reality that this incident gets thrown out there in a laundry list of alleged bad deeds (shot a moose illegally, drank a beer in a squad car, etc.) tells me that it's either fabricated (which the Palins are very good at) or that the Palins believe that child abuse is equivalent to bagging a permit-free moose.
Either way...not so good.
I still don't get it, though...I would never in a million years stand there while someone hooked my nephew up to taser, even with his consent, let alone "laugh about it" with my family members.
I'd be on the phone to the police in a heartbeat and have my nephew in the ER.
Weird...and a little frightening.
to me this speaks volumes about how efficient and well-run this campaign is.
Another example...the day early voting opened here in Maine, I received an email from the Obama campaign reminding me of this option. By entering my zip code, the email link gave me the following:
1) The location and address where I could vote early (our town hall)
2) The correct phone number for this location
3) The correct operating hours for this location.
To put this in perspective, our town has fewer than a thousand residents. I fully expected to be told to go to a location over an hour away (the nearest town of any appreciable size).
This level of detail and accuracy is unprecedented, in my experience, in any organization, let alone a national campaign.
Bravo, Obama!
being funny just might get him elected. Not to mention Sarah Palin showing up on SNL, which makes me ill.
The antics of the McCain campaign in the recent weeks with their nastiness and smears have made it difficult for any thinking people to identify with them, which sadly, seems to be a requirement for whether they vote for them.
By having McCain and Palin be funny, be human and likeable...be afraid. Be very afraid.
Even CNN is claiming that McCain has gained two points in the polls--which is ludicrous considering that's well within their margin of error.
But in our ADD nation...anything can happen.
Gulping TUMS...and hoping Obama gets himself on late night TV ASAP...
SOOOOOOOOO happy.
I saw Bachman on MSNBC, and she looks...unwell. (Trying to be polite.)
It's bad enough we had to bring back the Vietnam War, let's at least avoid the McCarthy 50s, please oh please....
