Limbaugh

Limbaugh represents the GOP base. The base is literally entirely white people who live in former Confederate states and territories or small towns in primarily rural states.

As the nation's demographics continue to shrink that ethnic group - the present GOP will disappear. The future will be

between the present Democratic Party (conservative) and the

new Progressives (Liberal) led party.

NBC and McCaffrey

Well . . . Much to my (feigned) shock . . . Neither Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Brian Williams nor Rachel Maddow even mentioned General McCaffrey's name on their December 1st programs!. . . Not a word. . . If this situation had existed on any other network - in the world - it would have been at least briefly discussed. . .If this had occured on a Fox network it would have produced an Olbermann "special comment" and lengthy kvetching by Matthews and Maddow.(Williams is hopeless.)

OK . . . So, since neither Keith nor Rachel (our current faves)do not have the stones to talk about the General - what shall we do? . . . I suggest daily emails to our duo.

McCaffrey . . . Olbermann . . . Maddow . . . Matthews

While this McCaffrey story should be outrageous to all Americans - it likely will resonate only with us Socialists!

That is OK though, we now have strong voices on the TV networks who will express our collective outrage. I cannot wait (or will I have to?) for Keith, Rachel and Chris - "Our Progressives" - to just bury the network that has been using McCaffrey to spread his self serving propoganda.

Keith will likely have it as his #1 story AND make Brian Williams his "worst person" for ignoring the issue. . . Rachel will probably have Glenn Greenwald as her studio guest to make sure her viewers understand just how evil that network is. . .Chris is likely planning on bringing General McCaffrey in and playing real hardball with him! . . . Set your DVR's - this will be television for the ages! . . . Or will it?

how the media talks about torture and the rule of law

I am a 67 year old retired guy. All my life I have heard other guys talk about "the system is rigged" and "all the political parties are really the same." . . . I always figured the guys who said stuff like that were just stupid and could not tell the difference between most things. . .

Well, this Bush Administration criminal activity - now coupled with the Wall Street mess - kind of shows how close to the truth those guys were all along. The Democrats are very interested in protecting the Bushies and both parties are very interested in protecting the Wall Street guys. . . (Recommended reading: Michael Lewis' piece in Portfolio.com)

Thanks very much to Glenn Greenwald - for the clarity he brings.
