I suspect the confusion about illegal immigrants and the public

option stems from the following. The bills say no public money will be used to provide health care for illegal aliens. But they MAY be able to buy insurance from the exchange, coop, whatever just like they can (and some do) buy insurance from Blue-Cross/Blue Shied? In other words, would they be able to pay their own way in a public option or private insurance but NOT get government assistance to buy into private insurance or the public option. It's just like the right to be confused by the details. Does anyone know the answer. I mean know the answer not offer paranoid ravings.

The media will never appologize because

1.)they have no honor;

2.)they have no integrity;

3.)they have no courage;

4.)they are incapable of admitting they were/are wrong.

Can you image that bunch of gutless weasels being forced to face the fact they are responsible for George Bush: the huge budget deficit he created by giving tax cuts to them and the rest of the political/economic elite when he had inherited a surplus from Clinton (who taxed them, the wealthy elite); the Iraq War Bush launched and they supported; and a soviet/fascist style secret state run by Dick Cheney that they also supported or at least did not oppose? No.

The mainstream media are worse than worthless; they are more dangerous than no press. They collaborate with the destroyers of democracy. And the Tim Russerts and Maureen Dowds were/are among the worst of the worst. I hope she soon follows him into oblivion. He, she, they, is the paradigm of today's media: vain, superficial, self-important, ignorant, cowardly, self-serving, easily corrupted, fearful, and greedy. They lack the willingness and the ability for self-examination and so they will drag this country into the muck with them. We are doomed. Charlie Brown was right.

If you want to read good books about the MSM and guess why the MSM hates Clinton,

read: Lapdogs, The Hunting of the President, and Fools for Scandal. And every day you can read the incomparable, soul-saving www.dailyhowler.com It is worth everything. It, Gene Lyons, Joe Connason, MoveOn, and Salon got me through the MSM 1990's and Bush years.

As for why the MSM hated(s) the Clintons. It was class, money, and envy.

Class: They thought he was trailer trash because his family was poor and came from Arkansas. Never mind the fact that he got a scholarship to Georgetown and a Rhodes Scholarship. And never mind that the right in Arkansas and later Washington hated him because of his constant attacks on the racists in Arkansas (see Justice Jim Johnson and his home, "White Haven,"

Money: He raised the taxes of the MSM and the rest of the political/economic elite. He raised their taxes to balance the budget and expand the earned income tax credit for the working poor. I'm sure ole Tim and Maureen, et.al. never forgave Clinton for raising their taxes and still love Bush for cutting them.

Envy: He was smarter than they; he won the White House; women liked him (not just chubby ones); he knew more than they; and gosh darn it people liked him (despite media efforts his poll numbers went up and up an up during the impeachment efforts, making the MSM feel impotent--in yet another way).

So, he was poor but made it big, smart, well-informed, likable, successful, and he RAISED THEIR TAXES, he raised the MSM's taxes. He raised Tim Russert's taxes; he raised Maureen Dowd's taxes; he raised Sally Quinn's taxes; he raised David Broder's taxes.

He didn't raise my taxes or your taxes (unless you were among the wealthiest 1.2 percent), but he sure raised their taxes, so he didn't have to raise my taxes, your taxes, or the taxes of anyone else in the middle-class and he cut the annual budget deficit IN HALF IN ONE YEAR in one year, putting the country on the path to fiscal sanity without one Republican vote--to a man and woman the GOP voted against the budget that made this country sane again.

The result was the poor got richer, the working poor got richer, the middle-class got richer (the only time in the last 40 years that the median income went up instead of stagnating or declining)and even, despite their higher taxes, the rich got richer. BUT the gap between the rich and everyone else shrank.

The Clinton years' weren't perfection; he made mistakes. But he tried and it was the best we've seen since the period between 1945-1968 (except for the Vietnam War)despite the efforts of the GOP and the MSM.

But, HE RAISED THEIR TAXES and they hated him for it and the PEOPLE LIKED HIM despite Tim Russert, Newt Gringrich, Maureen Dowd, Sally Quinn, David Broder, Tom Delay, and the rest of the pissants in the media and political elite. And most of us still do.

If we knew what was in

their stock portfolios, health insurance companies, the military-industrial complex, anyone? If we could answer that question, we might know why providing for the people of Afghanistan and fighting insurgents to do so is more important than providing for the people of the United States. We do know one thing: the media is NOT liberal. They are rich. And like most rich people protecting and increasing their assets is much more important than the well-being of their fellow citizens, even the well-being of the country. I'm sure they convince themselves that what is good for them is good for the country--after all, many years ago General Motors did.

The right-wing slant of

Law and Order is why I no longer watch it. Law and Order: SUV mines sexual perversion for ratings so I no longer watch it. Only Law and Order: Criminal Intent is frequently watchable. The result? Even more time to read. In fact, there is no reason to watch NBC at all--just MSNBC.
