Original article: Obama, be progressive!

Mandates and Problems

Obama has one mandate, to fix the economy so people get and keep good-paying jobs with good, safe benefits provided by business where possible and government where necessary.

Fear may let the Democrats get a sane health care plan through, but if the fear subsides or is replaced with a greater fear--he's taking my money and giving it to THEM--he will be blocked by greed, the right-wing, and conservative and liberal Democrats, if they get the chance.

The conservatives will accuse Obama of doing too much, spending too much, and the liberals will accuse of not doing enough. He better act fast and use centrist language while trying to get one or two liberal/progressive programs through. After all, Johnson got the Student Loan program through by calling it the National Defense Loan program designed to help us beat the commies.

He has a number of problems, the two central ones are his enemies and his friends.

His enemies are up and running with calls for impeachment (they also called for the impeachment of Clinton BEFORE he was inaugurated) and claims of wickedness and extremism, just as they did with Clinton.

They claimed Clinton killed hundreds in Arkansas and that Hillary killed Vince Foster; they claimed he was a rapist and Hillary was a lesbian. They claimed both Clintons were socialists, specifically in his tax on the rich and their health care plan, and her ties to, get ready for a familiar name, Saul Alinsky.

Some of the same pathological viruses, and their cousins, are claiming that Obama is bi-sexual, had a gay affair and did drugs with someone named Sinclair. Michelle, they claim, is a racist. And more will come. Obama too is being accused of being a socialist, specifically, also, in his health care and tax plans.

The pathological viruses will not let up, any more than they let up on the Clintons. The truth is now as it was then irrelevant. They will lie; they will use the big lie (then murderer, rapist, lesbian, and now, so far, bisexual, drug user, racist) and a few will believe the big lies.

The viruses will also tell smaller, seemingly more believable lies, like Whitewater, inventing the internet (Gore), piling the lies on until the MSM now bored with positive stories, looks for an interesting story to create a new narrative, and it will begin convincing itself that where there is smoke there is fire until they forget there wasn't any fire, just lots of smoke being blown at them by the right-wing nuts and the greedy right-wingers who want their power back.

His so-called friends are up and running too, with some calling for a left-wing agenda (though I would love it, and I think the country needs it, but), and others shooting their mouths off out of boredom and the desire to craft the new MSM narrative.

Evan Thomas and Jon Meachem, generally Obama supporters in the press, were on the Charlie Rose Show the other night, noting that there was something "creepy" about Obama's isolation and manipulativeness and claiming that he created a persona to win the election--in other words he isn't authentic. (Isn't that what they said about Hillary Clinton?)

Don't forget the so-called liberal media and liberals in it that spread lots of lies about the Clintons (it was the NY Times that made up Whitewater)and Gore and the Buddhist Temple false scandal, and waited 3 weeks before they finally shot down the Swift-boaters' attack on Kerry. The MSM, even the so-called moderates and liberals, will spread lies about Obama too, sooner or later. Boredom and a desire for a scoop will pull them to the dark side now as it did in the 90's.

I supported Hillary, but Obama was/is far superior to McCain and I voted for Obama. But Democrats better be ready to play hardball with the MSM liberals like Rich and MSM suck-ups like Matthews because they will want new, interesting stories.

The MSM will tire of stories about the cabinet and the wars, and soon the difficulty of doing stories on the details of health care and tax plans will fry their tiny brains. They recycle stories: Remember the stories about Gore's clothing in 2000, now modified to apply to Palin.

But she will soon be old news, and there is nothing worse than old news, not even false news, for the MSM. They will want new, interesting stories and so turn on Obama and sooner rather than later. And when they do the so-called liberals will not be far behind. Rezko may become Whitewater. Sinclair will become not Flowers because she was partially true (a one-night stand not an ll year affair though) but Paula Jones, a liar trotted out by right-wing enemies and bought into by the MSM.

And Reagan

put a hot tub in the White House too, but it disappeared. To a house in California maybe?
