Thank You, Glenn

As usual you're being too modest. You're work here was invaluable! And it does restore hope in the possibilities of over-powering these Goddamned (in the truest sense of the word) bastards in Washington.

HR 847: Recognizing the Importance of Christmas

H.RES.847

Title: Recognizing the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith

"on December 25 of each calendar year, American Christians observe Christmas, the holiday celebrating the birth of their savior, Jesus Christ"

[snip]

"expresses its deepest respect to American Christians and Christians throughout the world."

Some enterprising young representative should have put an amendment to the resolution declaring January 1st to be the first day of the year.

I think the fact that 9 Democrats voted Nay to HR 847 was interesting. You can almost imagine the political attacks ads next year:

“Congressman Jim McDermott doesn’t believe American Christians observe Christmas on December 25th……
He said he believes October 13th to be Christmas……
On November 4th, vote for Bob McRighteous

He knows when Christmas is!”

It's after 12:00, shouldn't you be paying a prostitute to piss in your mouth about now? As she tells you how utterly worthless you are.

You've already made your self-hating and worthlessness clear to everyone here. If you won't do it for the prostitutes, do it for the Jewish ancestors whose history you love to disgrace. C’mon! Make your parents proud to disgrace their name, you lowlife, piece of dogsh*t!

From the Front Lines

Well, that's it, old sport. Best of luck. I'm off to the Madrid launch of my book in Spanish at a reception hosted by Jose Maria Aznar, the former prime minister here, followed by a delicious dinner. I anticipate no riots.

Godspeed, little green beret..(sniff).. Keep your head low..

Oh, and you must try the fromage frais they have for hors d'oeuvres! They're to die for, soldier!

Off Topic - Joe Klein

Sorry to go off-topic, but I had to throw this bit of Joe Klein insanity into the mix that I just heard and it made my jaw drop (I'm not sure why I'm still shocked by this guy). After Bush's dismissing of the NIE report, Media Liberal Clown [tm] Joe Klein went on MSNBC's Joe Scarborough show yesterday to make the following statement:

The Bush reaction to this — he didn’t try to block it. He didn’t try to postpone it. He didn’t spend weeks, he didn’t ask the intelligence community ‘give me a couple of weeks, let’s see if we can figure out some kind of negotiating initiative or some way to respond to this.’ He didn’t try to spin it to our advantage. This is an amazing moment of candor by the United States.

An amazing moment of candor.

WAR WITH IRAN (2008): Starring George Bush in his Comeback Performance!

I find it shocking that our intelligence community would so cavalierly dismiss the months of preparation Bush, Cheney, Bolton, Limbaugh, CNN, FOX, and the rightwing apparatus have gone to hype 'The Latest & Greatest Threat to Civilization'! Barnum and Bailey couldn’t have done a better job! I’d like to know what these intelligence ne're-do-wells plan to replace the 2008 TV programming schedule with if we’re not going to have "WAR WITH IRAN", starring George W Bush (featuring cameos by Rudy Guiliani)! In case they haven’t heard, the Hollywood writers are on strike! This was a win-win for everyone! Thanks, “intelligence community”!

The Most Virulent Narrative of the Pro-War Right

To paraphrase Krauthammer, the NRO publishes these made-up stories only because "it fits perfectly into the most virulent narrative of the pro-war Right."

The rightwing establishment's "patriotism" bears no relationship to an unshakeable love for this country's principles and it's people - and they go out of their way to prove it to the American people every day. Everything they believe is completely malleable. Look how quickly they went from being outraged at Saddam's "torturing of his people", to being 100% supportive of those exact same tactics, against those exact same innocent people, when told to by their Republican leadership. They are completely devoid of conscience, convictions, ethics, or honor.

Amazing Work, Glenn!

I know it's said several times a day, but you do tremendous work, Glenn! The determination and relentlessness you bring to these issues deserves much more attention and appreciation than you are currently receiving!

With the sesspool of filth this country is subjected to by incompetent hacks like Tim Russert and Tom Friedman who are treated like royality, and TIME magazine which is treated as the height of serious "journalism" based soley on it's distant past, the clarity you bring to exposing their slothfulness and extreme bias is breathtaking to read every day!

Keep up the fantastic work!
